Property Check Out / Cleaning Checklist

The condition of the full property is the responsibility of all tenants when it comes to our final check out inspection.
The final condition of all rooms will determine if there are any deductions to be made from the deposit for cleaning,
decoration or maintenance. Please ensure you speak to all of your house mates about this. Evidence of your individual room
being spotless will not help as the property is considered as a whole.

Print out our handy checklist below to make sure you haven’t missed anything. If you notice any items not in good condition,
you must report it as maintenance using the FIXFLO system on www.ridleyproperties.com.

All Rooms Cleaned Good Condition


Carpets / Laminate Flooring vacuumed and cleaned including under appliances and furniture
All internal windows cleaned including frames and sills
Skirting boards, picture rails and above every door wiped and dusted
Light switches cleaned and lampshades dusted
Walls wiped where possible, no scuff or marks on walls
Doors and door handles dusted and wiped
Curtains or blinds dusted, cleaned and in full working order
All drawers clear and wiped out
All light bulbs working / replacements left
All cupboards clear of belongings and clean
Vacuum cleaner bag emptied
Boiler / central heating all working
Smoke detectors all working (not beeping) replacement batteries left if not able to reach
Bathrooms and WC(s) Cleaned Good Condition
Toilet disinfected and bleached internally and externally, including limescale removal (If this is
particularly tough you will need a special limescale remover to be left overnight)
Bath/shower/basin clean and de-scaled, mirrors and shower screen clean
Bath / shower silicone sealant clean and free from mould
Tiles and grout free from stains and mould
Extractor fan clean, dust removed and working

Kitchen Cleaned Good Condition


Oven and Hob clean inside and out including glass door
Extractor fan filter cleaned or replaced
Fridge/freezer wiped clean, defrosted, turned off and door left open
Personal small appliances such as microwaves, kettles toasters etc removed
Kitchen cupboards all cleaned inside and out
Washing machine door seal cleaned and free from mould, soap drawer clean, filter cleaned
All other appliances cleaned and working: Dishwasher/ Tumble Dryers, filters removed and
cleaned
All appliances moved out and floors vacuumed and mopped beneath / behind
Check silicone or sealant around worktops / behind sink is free from mould and intact
Lounge and Dining Room Cleaned Good Condition
Sofa/armchairs vacuumed under the cushions
Dining table / breakfast bar cleaned along with chairs and stools
Furniture all moved and cleaned underneath
TV cleaned / dusted on top
All Sky/ Virgin TV boxes and routers removed and returned to the company

Bedrooms Cleaned Good Condition


Wardrobes clean, dusted on top, vacuumed internally, mirror doors cleaned
Drawers and other furniture clear and clean
Desk and chair cleaned
Mattress on bed turned, vacuumed and cleaned with no stains visible on either side
All furniture moved and vacuumed underneath

Garden / Yards / External Space Cleaned Good Condition


Clear of all belongings including rubbish bags
Gardens/ vegetation all clean and tidy, free from weeds
Front and back door clean
It’s very important the last person to leave the property takes the final meter readings. You need to provide these to
your utility suppliers to get your final bills.
