Mizrahi, Inc.

Chapter 4 Mini Case Study

Mizrahi, Inc., a multinational company specializing in the production of customized machine

parts, boasts a workforce predominantly comprised of engineers, reflecting the organization's intricate
and highly technical operations. With a focus on precision and innovation, employees are expected to
excel in information technology while possessing a blend of spatial awareness, engineering prowess, and
crucially, creativity. A youthful managerial team led by a 30-year-old Malaysian manager, Miss Candy,
the human resource manager, has observed concerning trends within the organization. High rates of
absenteeism, low morale, and a palpable absence of effective leadership have contributed to a flat and
uninspiring organizational environment. Recognizing the need for change and improvement, Mizrahi,
Inc. has enlisted the expertise of an organizational consultant to help navigate these challenges and
revitalize the company culture for sustained success.

As an organizational development consultant tasked with diagnosing the challenges facing

Mizrahi, Inc., it's evident that the company faces several interrelated issues that are impeding its overall
effectiveness and employee satisfaction. The high incidence of absenteeism among engineer employees
is a concerning symptom of underlying problems within the organizational culture. Absenteeism can
often be a sign of disengagement, dissatisfaction, or even burnout among employees. In diagnosing
these challenges, it's essential to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the organizational culture,
employee perceptions, leadership effectiveness, communication channels, and HR policies and practices.

Analyzing and collecting the information in organization is a big things to accomplished with. It
involves different actions. I would suggest to conduct a meeting with key stakeholders, including Miss
Candy, department heads, and select employees, to gain a preliminary understanding of the observed
issues and their potential underlying causes. This meeting would also serve to establish rapport and
build trust with the organization. Observations and shadowing also important to do organization should
spend time observing daily operations and interactions within the organization, shadowing employees in
their roles to gain a firsthand understanding of the work environment, communication dynamics, and
leadership practices.

Finally, the last thing to do is to prepare a comprehensive report summarizing the findings of the
organizational assessment, including key insights, identified challenges, and recommended strategies for
improvement. This report would be presented to senior management and key stakeholders,
accompanied by actionable recommendations tailored to address the specific needs and priorities of
Mizrahi, Inc.

Mizrahi, Inc. faces significant challenges related to absenteeism, low morale, and ineffective
leadership, despite its success in meeting targets and maintaining a pool of skilled engineers. These
issues indicate a disconnect between employee needs and organizational culture. By addressing these
concerns through targeted interventions, such as improving communication, fostering a positive work
environment, and enhancing leadership development, Mizrahi, Inc. can create a more engaging and
supportive workplace conducive to long-term success and employee satisfaction
