 1. Introduction
CARESTREAM 3-phase generators have replaced QUANTUM 3-phase generators in new DRX-Ascend and
Q-Rad Systems.
 CARESTREAM 3-phase generator cabinets are smaller, have modern control electronics, and superior
reliability.
 The generator installation steps are the same. See Section 6 for more details.
 The Generator User Interface (Quest, Odyssey, Q-Vision, DirectView, DRive) is the same.
Note: Recent updates to the Odyssey and Quest designs (Dealer Support Bulletin #1308) are not related
to the Carestream Generator.
 Quantum Single Phase and Stored Energy generator models have not changed.
 Carestream has spare parts to support the installed base of QUANTUM 3-phase generators.

Carestream Generators can be identified by the CARESTREAM X-ray Generator label.

The REF and MODEL designation for the Carestream Generator is the same as the Quantum Generator.

5. Generator Power On / Off

Carestream Generator Power On/Off switch is on the Control Box. There is no circuit breaker on the
Carestream Generator cabinet as there was on the Quantum generator cabinet.

System Installation with a Carestream Generator
The steps to install a Q-Rad system that has a Carestream Generator are the same as with a Quantum
Generator.

System installation steps are in Q-Rad System Service Manual DC30-109 Figures 7-15 ~ 7-20.
