787 Normal Procedures

Scan Flow Guide

This guide illustrates the scan flows for some of the basic
Normal Procedures used in Boeing flight training. Individual
787 operators may publish different procedures, which take
precedence for training of their flight crews.
These scan flow diagrams are not a complete description of
any normal procedure. They are visual aids to help you
quickly learn prescribed patterns of actions that must be
memorized.
The diagrams focus on setup of airplane systems. They do
not include the obvious crew duties that apply to any
airplane. For example, the BEFORE START FLOW
illustration does not include ATC and ground
communications, CDU entries, or the taxi and takeoff
briefing.
This is your own copy of the guide. If there is additional
information that you would find helpful, you can add it to the
scan flow diagrams, digitally or on printed copies.
