celebrate its third annual Festival of Faces.

Festival
of
Faces
The woods give way to farmland and pine-clad
foothills with mountains looming in the distance
when you first glimpse Phandalin. In the
deepening twilight, the town's small neat houses
of log and fieldstone come into view. A plume of
smoke rises from a bonfire in the town square,
visible from the hillside where you stand.
Townsfolk have placed lit candles in jack-o'-
lanterns carved from pumpkins and turnips,
which line the dirt road on your approach. Their
eerie faces peer out, some in welcome and
others in warning. Singing, clapping and music
echo between the buildings of the town. A
festival is in full swing!
