FOCUSED
(EVEN WHEN YOU WORK ON A COMPUTER ALL DAY LONG)

" I work on a computer or
phone all day long. How do I
stay focused? "

Here’s what works for me.

DELETED SOCIAL MEDIA APPS
FROM MY PHONE

1. You don’t need them. Login from a

desktop when needed.
USE THE “NEW FEED ERADICATOR”
CHROME EXTENSION

2. It blocks the main newsfeed of all

social media networks on your phone.

"This has been a game-changer

for me. It adds friction to
getting access to newsfeeds."
DO NOT DISTURB
EVERYWHERE AND ALWAYS

3. Everyone goes to voicemail except

my family.

I’ll call you back ASAP

Been doing this for years and

have yet to miss an important
call that I couldn’t call back.
UNPLUG THE GIANT MONITOR
WHEN YOU NEED TO FOCUS

4. I have a massive 49” monitor on my

desk.

During Zooms with clients,

team meetings, and other
times when I need more real
estate, I have it plugged in.

When I need to get focused

work done, I unplug and use
one single screen.
CHANGE THE VENUE

5. I have four coffee shops I

frequent, I have my main office,
a kitchen table, a dining room
table, an outside patio, and a
library where I work.

If I’m struggling in the main

office, I get a new venue.

This simple reset is massive.

TAKE A BREAK

6. If productivity is stuck, I take a walk.

Grab water.

Do a reset.

Social media is designed to be

addicting, so leaving your
devices for even 3 minutes can
give you the reset you need to
get a fresh start.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP

7. When I’m tired, I have lower willpower

and it’s easier to get sucked into
time-wasters.

Getting enough sleep is key so

I can focus on the task at
hand.

I recently started using a

Whoop to help track my sleep.
It’s been eye opening to sleep
quality and quantity for me.
