WRITING PART 2

With the era of great advancement in industry, people have applied advanced methods to produce
electricity on a large scale and using atomic energy is one of them. However, two conflicting opinions
emerged, with one side agreeing to use energy while the other side said it leads to danger to the
earth. In my opinion, I think it has both benefits and drawbacks, but I agree more with the second
statement because its raw materials and production method can bring imperilment even with just
one small error.
On the one hand, using atomic energy has the potential to cause harm to the Earth environment,
especially to human health and some other creatures. First, nuclear technology depend on uranium
ore, a scarce non-renewable energy as an input. Therefore, continuously developing atomic energy
for electricity production will deplete resources and increase exploitation costs, and it also harms the
environment during uranium exploitation and processing. Moreover, in produce stage, nuclear waste
with radioactive will seriously affect human health as well as the surrounding environment if it is
released into the environment, so high technology is essential to handle it. The process of heating raw
materials is also always warned because it is entirely possible that a disaster could occur due to
negligence and the result would be meltdowns the factories.
However, it cannot be denied that using atonic energy is an advancement in electricity production
with its benefits. First, the produce process doesn’t use CO2 which is the primary causing global
climate change as input, but the factories still produce a higher level of energy compared with other
resources. Moreover, nuclear factories just need a smaller construction area to create electricity
continuously and stably, so it is easily to understand that atomic energy become ideal energy to
provide power for the grid.
To conclude, although using atomic energy has significant benefits for electricity production, it also
has risks causing great damage, so to ensure safety, factories should only use it when really need and
must have high knowledge and technology to solve it.
