They got married and Dayang Sumbi gave birth to a baby boy named Sangkuriang.
The prince then changed into a dog named Tumang. He was very smart and
handsome like his father. Sangkuriang liked to hunt animals and looked for fruits to
eat. One day, when he was hunting, Sangkuriang accidently killed Tumang. He went
home and told her mother about the dog.

Driven by sadness and anger, she grabbed a big spoon and hit Sangkuriang's head
with it. Dayang Sumbi was so sad and started to cry because she just lost her
husband. Sangkuriang feels confused. How can his mother love a dog more than
him? Sangkuriang then decided to run away from their home.

Many years later, Sangkuriang found a house of a beautiful woman. He didn't know
that the woman was his mother and fell in love with her. Sangkuriang forced her to
marry him but Dayang Sumbi could not accept it because she knew that the boy was
her son.

She realizes that she needs to do something to prevent Sangkuriang from marrying
her. Dayang sumbi decided to ask him an impossible requirement to marry her in
order for him to give up. She asked Sangkuriang to build her a big boat within one
night.

Without doubt, Sangkuriang accepted this condition and worked hard to fulfil the
condition. Then he commands the genies to cut down trees and build a boat. A few
moments before dawn, Sangkuriang and his genie servants almost finished the
boat.

Dayang Sumbi immediately woke all the women in the village and asked them to
wave a long red scarf. All the women in the village were waving their red scarf,
making it look as if dawn was breaking. Deceived by false dawn, the cock crowned
and farmers rose to the new day.

Sangkuriang immediately dropped their work. With all his anger, he kicked the
unfinished boat. The boat flew and landed on a vallet, The boat then became a
mountain, called Tangkuban Perahu.
