THE AWAKENING

Ip Man: The Awakening" is a 2021 action film that follows the adventures of a young Master
Ip in Hong Kong. When Master Ip stops a kidnapping, he unknowingly ignites a turf war with a
ruthless human-trafficking ring. In retaliation, the gang kidnaps one of Ip Man's close friends,
forcing him to confront the group's brutal boxing champion head-on.

Directed by Li Xi Jie and Zhang Zhu Lin, the film stars Miao Xie, Guan-Ying Chen, and Qilong
Hua. While the cinematography and the story have their merits, some reviewers have noted
that the film lacks the directorial magic and creative writing that made the previous Ip Man
films so popular. The fight scenes and choreography have also been criti for being.
