Discuss individually and comprehensively the following: (the reasons

for their establishment is very important to discuss)
The ASEAN

back in 1959 inspired the establishment of ASEAN .

ASEAN was inspired by the Southeast Asia Friendship and Economic Treaty (SEAFET) of 1959. After SEAFET
failed, Association of Southeast Asia (ASA) was established.

From the infancy of the newly freed countries of Southeast Asia, many groups such as Association of Southeast
Asia (ASA) existed but then failed due to conflict of interests and disagreements. These disagreements caused
tension between the countries and eventually, confrontations broke out. After these confrontations, the Southeast
Asian countries tried to salvage their relationships and then the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN)
was formed. In its infancy, ASEAN only consisted of 5 countries, namely Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia,
and the Philippines. Over the years, many countries joined and currently, ASEAN consists of 10 countries.

The ASEAN aims to accelerate economic growth and the social and cultural development of Southeast Asian
countries. It also focuses on political and economic security and socio-cultural integration.

The key part here is that SEAFET failed because of the disagreements
