Exercise No 1: Take the M1000 / GNS into operation and configure it as follows:
1. Plug in and power up the M1000, attach the antenna cable in the Ref Clock module as provided.
2. Via Front Panel configure a static IP Address for the LAN 0 interface as follows:
IP Address: 172.27.75.6
Network mask: 255.255.255.0
3. Attach a laptop and LAN interface (on the LAN CPU module) of M1000 with a network cable.
Configure LAN interface of the laptop in the same subnet as from the server.
5. Proceed to the PTP Dialog. Configure the PTP HPS 100 card as Multicast Master and activate the
SMPTE ST 2059-2 Profile (Find in the Web GUI: PTP->PTPv2 Configuration->Global->Multicast
Master).
6. Check the Network settings of the HPS 100 as well. A valid IP Address (which can be assigned
independently from the LAN IP Address) should be configured. Save the selected configuration.
7. Check the PTP Traffic coming from the Master server with a PTP analyzing tool PTP Track Hound.
