6 tablespoons butter
¾ cup brown sugar
1 egg
½ cup molasses
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, gineger,
cinnamon, cloves, and salt till blended.In a larger bowl, beat the butter,
egg, and brown sugar with an electric blender on medium till blended
Add vanilla and molasses to the larger bowl until blendedSlowly stir in the
dry ingredients into the larger bowlDivide the dough in half and wrap each
half in plastic and let it stand at room temperature for 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and grease a cookie sheet.
Grease your cookie sheetPlace one of your halves of cookie dough on a
floured surface and sprinkle flour over the dough and a rolling pinRoll the
dough so it is ¼ inch thickCut out the cookies with your cookie cutters.
Space the cookies 2 inches apart on the cookie sheetBack one sheet at a
time for 10 minutes.
Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to stand
until they are firm.
Decorate them!
