Ingredients:
3 cups of flour
¾ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground cloves Directions:
¼ teaspoon salt In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, gineger,
6 tablespoons butter cinnamon, cloves, and salt till blended.In a larger bowl, beat the butter,
¾ cup brown sugar egg, and brown sugar with an electric blender on medium till blended
1 egg Add vanilla and molasses to the larger bowl until blendedSlowly stir in the
½ cup molasses dry ingredients into the larger bowlDivide the dough in half and wrap each
2 teaspoons vanilla half in plastic and let it stand at room temperature for 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and grease a cookie sheet.
Grease your cookie sheetPlace one of your halves of cookie dough on a
floured surface and sprinkle flour over the dough and a rolling pinRoll the
dough so it is ¼ inch thickCut out the cookies with your cookie cutters.
Space the cookies 2 inches apart on the cookie sheetBack one sheet at a
time for 10 minutes.
Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to stand
until they are firm.
Decorate them!
