WHAT ARE THESE PRACTICE PLANS?

USA Football has developed practice plans to remove guesswork from your preparation.

Included are 12 practice plans per stage for a total of 48. From warm-up to individual to team periods,

these plans help you develop athletes within USA Football’s Practice Guidelines and Levels of Contact.

HOW SHOULD YOU USE THE PRACTICE PLANS?

Start by completing your USA Football certification, including Football Development Model (FDM)
age-based resources. Then make sure to review the Player Progression Guide and Contact Manual.
No matter what game type you coach – Non-Contact, Limited Contact or Contact – both resources
will help you develop better athletes.

Then use the practice plans as you see fit. You can follow them minute-by-minute or mix-and-match
the drills you find in the Player Progression Guide or Contact Manual.

Many of these practice plans recommend training multiple skills. This helps an athlete become more
