TRANSITION #1

Drugfree Malaysia.
FULL SPEECH
Assalammualaikum and a very good morning to Mr. Muhammed Azlan bin Hashim,
CEO of IHH Healthcare company. My name is Izmeer Izzuddin Bin Ishak and I am a
representative from the DrugFree Malaysia organisation. Today, I want to talk about fund
raising for our future project, The Drug Free Malaysia Awareness Campaign. Now before I
continue, I want to share you guys something, in 2020, AADK reported over 15,000 cases of
drug addicts involving youths across the nation. Moreover, drug addiction cases in this
country have increased by 27% in the first two months of this year which is 118,820 addicts
compared with 93,534 addicts reported in the same period of time last year, and 30% of the
addicts are among youth, this is very concerning as the nation’s future lies in our youths’
hands. Therefore, we need your help, to fund our latest campaign and help battle this
issue. Before I elaborate more on this, are you aware of the danger that drugs bring to our
society? Are you not worried for our youths’ future? Have you ever imagined a future
without drugs? Today I am going to talk about three major points which are Introduction of
Drugfree Malaysia, Drug-Free Malaysia Awareness Campaign, and lastly the cost and the
benefits of the project.

Without further ado, let’s move on to my first point which is DFM’s background .

Drug Free Malaysia is a non-profit organization registered with the Registration Of

Society which was established in 2017 before changing its name from Drug Free Youth
Association. DFM's approach is to fill the youth's free time with various activities, especially
through music, DFM also tries to promote a healthy & positive way of life through awareness
campaigns. Moreover, the current director is Nurfitri Ali Bin Saleh and the headquarter of
DFM is located in Kuala Lumpur. Over the years, DFM Has visited many schools and
launched drug awareness campaigns such as the Drug Free Heroes program which had a
huge success in educating students on the dangers of drugs. Furthermore, DFM was also
awarded the SAY award and The Star Award from The King of Selangor.

Now that I’ve talked about my first main point, we move on to the next one which is the
Drug-Free Malaysia Awareness Campaign.

To begin with, the main purpose of the project is to raise awareness about the
dangers of substance abuse to individuals and the society. Next, another purpose of the
program is to help the community to spend their free time doing beneficial activities instead
of loitering around or doing something unhealthy. Now as for the execution of the project,
the program will start with speeches from invited guest speakers, such as healthcare
professionals, recovering addicts, or law enforcement officials, to discuss the physical,
psychological, and legal consequences of drug abuse. Printed medias such as pamphlets or
brochures that conveys messages on drug effects, drug facts and types of drugs will be
handed out during the speech to help audience understand better. Lastly the campaign will
end with performances from invited bands which conveys powerful messages on drugs
abuse.

I have talked about the introduction of DFM and the execution of the campaign, let us move
on to my last main point which is the cost and benefits of the project.

Firstly, the cost, for the Drug-Free Malaysia Awareness Campaign, we need fundings of
RM10,000, The fundings will be used to implement DFM’s plan and programs consistently.
After that, We will make sure IHH Healthcare will be acknowledged as the biggest patron for
DrugFree Malaysia and as a result, IHH Healthcare will gain favor of public’s opinion for
advocating a drug-free lifestyle. Other than that, we will print IHH Healthcare logos on our t-
shirts and also hand out branded swags during the events to increase the company’s
publicity. Of course, we will also make sure to give IHH Healthcare credits and exposures by
name-dropping during announcements and setting up a booth for IHH Healthcare at the
event.

Finally, that is the end of my main points.

With all of my main points discussed, we have come to the conclusion. Today I have
talked to you about the introduction of DFM, the Drug-Free Malaysia Awareness Campaign
and the cost and benefits of the campaign. I hope my speech has enlightened you to fund
our future campaign, I would like to end my speech with a quote by Hellen Keller, “Alone we
can do so little; Together we can do so much.” Thank you so much for taking your time out
to listen to my speech today.
