SPEAKER 1

Jesus is the Son of God and the savior of humanity. Christians view him as the
Messiah, and the world's savior. He is the primary character in Christianity. They hold that
accepting Jesus as their savior will grant them forgiveness of their sins and eternal life. They
also hold that Jesus is the only path to eternal life. According to what the Bible says, Jesus is
more than just someone who closely resembles God or is really like to him. Jesus is actually
the All-Powerful God. Titus 2:13 says that as Christians we are “looking for the blessed hope
and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.”

Upon seeing the resurrected Christ, Thomas cried out, “My Lord and my God!” ( John
20:28). God the Father also directly attests to Christ in the book of Hebrews, saying, "But of
the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.'" In the gospel of John, Jesus is
referred to be "the only begotten God" (John 1:18). Another way the Bible teaches that Jesus
is God is by showing that he has all of the attributes of God. He knows everything (Matthew
16:21; Luke 11:17; John 4:29), is everywhere (Matthew 18:20; 28:20; Acts 18:10), has all
power (Matthew 8:26–27; 28:18; John 11:38–44; Luke 7:14–15; Revelation 1:8), depends on
nothing outside of himself for life (John 1:4; 14:6; 8:58), rules over everything (Matthew
28:18; Revelation 1:5; 19:16;), never began to exist and never will cease to exist (John 1:1;
8:58), and is our Creator (Colossians 1:16). In other words, everything that God is, Jesus is.
For Jesus is God.

The Bible, which Christians consider to be the inspired word of God, serves as the
foundation for the belief that Jesus is God. Christians also believe that Jesus' miracles, like
his resurrection from the dead, demonstrate that he is God. The Bible is filled with references
to Jesus as God, such as John 1:1, which says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God."

SPEAKER 2

Jesus affirms, or at least does not deny, that He is God on multiple occasions in the
New Testament, the portion of the Bible that describes His life, teachings, and the teachings
of His early followers. In a few instances, He explicitly declares Himself to be divine. When
Jesus claims to be one with the Father God in John 10:30–33, the pious Jews want to put Him
to death for blasphemy. They express what His statements suggest: "You, a mere man, claim
to be God" (NIV). In Mark 14:61-63 (NIV), Jesus is on trial for His life and is asked, “Are
you the Christ, Son of the Blessed One [that is, God]?” He answers, “I am,” and then calls
Himself the “Son of Man,” which is a title used for an exalted heavenly figure in the Old
Testament.

Jesus repeatedly declared himself to be God, according to the most trustworthy

historical accounts of his life. While Jesus frequently displayed His God-nature in a more
subdued manner, some of these statements were explicit and overt.

During His earthly ministry, Jesus refrained from openly discussing His divine nature.
This is probably due to the reason He came in the first century A.D. was not to rule over
people as a king, but to save them and bring them into a personal relationship with God. "I
am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6, NIV) and "I am the light of the world"
(John 8:12, NIV) are two examples of how Jesus alluded to his identity subtly.

SPEAKER 3

The whole story of God's redemptive plan in Jesus is told in the Bible. We can see the
big imprints of our Savior from Genesis to Revelation. "All along, true faith was messianic
faith, centered on Christ himself," stated Glen Scrivener. "Emmanuel, God with us, Jesus was
born incarnate on the earth fully human and fully God."

“The Bible teaches that Jesus is not merely someone who is a lot like God, or someone
who has a very close walk with God,” wrote Matt Perman, “Rather, Jesus is the Most High
God himself.” Furthermore, Jesus assured us that he would never abandon us. The Holy Spirit
is a gift to believers; He always resides within us. The one Triune God is made up of three
distinct persons: God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Some Christians believe that Jesus is fully God and fully human. This is known as the
doctrine of the hypostatic union. Other Christians believe that Jesus is only human, but that
he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, the question of whether Jesus is God is a
matter of faith. There is no scientific evidence to prove or disprove the existence of God, and
there is no way to prove or disprove the divinity of Jesus. Each individual must decide for
themselves what they believe.
