Preface

The Easy Concert Pieces series presents easy pieces for trumpet with piano accompaniment. Pieces
typical of their era and suitable for auditions, public performance, competitions or examinations are
ordered according to level of difficulty. These Easy Concert Pieces also provide appealing additional
material for use in trumpet lessons.
Volume 1 contains pieces with a range up to written c”, with d” appearing as a short top note in just a
few pieces. Simple and memorable rhythms, readily playable note sequences and patterns of articula-
tion that can be mastered quickly and easily make this book ideal for beginners.
Volume 2 contains pieces with a range no higher than written f”. Besides extending rhythmic scope and
requiring a little more in terms of phrasing and articulation, these pieces will encourage further explo-
ration of musical contrasts.
Volume 3 is intended for players with a well-developed embouchure who can play notes up to written
g”, though this note only appears as a short top note. Flexible articulation and legato playing with
a well-developed dynamic range are required for pieces that are longer than those in the preceding
volumes.
All the pieces are recorded on the CD included with each book, both in complete and playback ver-
sions (piano accompaniment).

Vorwort

Die Reihe Easy Concert Pieces enthält leichte Werke für Trompete mit Klavierbegleitung. Nach Schwie-
rigkeitsgrad geordnet finden sich für ihre Epochen repräsentative Stücke, die sich für Vorspiele, Wett-
bewerbe oder Prüfungen eignen. Zudem dienen die Easy Concert Pieces als motivierende Ergänzung
im Trompetenunterricht.
Band 1 enthält Stücke bis zum notierten c‘‘, in einigen wenigen Stücken kommt das d‘‘ als kurzer
Spitzenton vor. Einfache und eingängige Rhythmen, gut ausführbare Tonverbindungen und Artikula-
tionen, die bereits nach kurzer Zeit leicht beherrscht werden, machen diesen Band zu einem idealen
Heft für Einsteiger.
Band 2 beinhaltet Werke bis maximal zum notierten f‘‘. Neben dem erweiterten Rhythmusspektrum
und leicht erhöhten Anforderungen in Phrasierung und Artikulation eignen sich diese Werke, um mu-
sikalisch differenzierter zu arbeiten.
Band 3 wendet sich an Spielerinnen und Spieler mit gut ausgebildetem Ansatz, die den Tonraum bis
zum notierten g‘‘ beherrschen, wobei dieser Ton nur als kurzer Spitzenton vorkommt. Flexibiliät in
Artikulation und Legotospiel sowie eine gut ausgebildete dynamische Bandbreite werden für die im
Vergleich zu den vorherigen Bänden längeren Stücke vorausgesetzt.
Alle Stücke sind auf der beigefügten CD in den Heften enthalten, als Vollversion und als Playback
(Klavierbegleitung).
Neben der beiliegenden Stimme für Trompete in B ist auf www.schott-music.com auch eine Stimme
für Trompete in C zum Download erhältlich (Schott ED 22555-01).
