1. Introduction

T o begin with I must express

my sincere thanks to
Saptarishis Astrology e-
magazine which was instrumental
in learning a new System of
Astrology. Yes. I accidentally came
across the magazine Volume 2
Yenbeeyes hails from a Tamil family published in May 2008. While
wherein he learnt astrology from his scanning through the articles I came
grandfather who knew the entire BPHS by across an article titled ‘3, 6, 10, 11
heart. He was first asked to learn by heart houses’ published in Page 53 written
the Sanskrit verses of BPHS & then slowly by Sri Krushna Jugal Kalani. This
taught astrology by his grandfather who article took me to his web-site
was his Guru. After 3 years of teaching only http://krushna.sageasita.com/ and
BPHS, he was then taught Jaimini Sutras at that was the beginning of the
the age of 23. Yenbeeyes is our author’s pen learning of the New System called
name and he having retired in 2007 has
‘Krushna’s Ashtakavarga System.’
taken up to the cause of astrology full time
and is currently translating Jaimini Sutras It took me nearly 6 months to study
into Tamil. Saptarishis Astrology has the system thoroughly and
observed that Shri Yenbeeyes pursues this understand the intricacies of the
science with an unmatched discipline and system. I also had a personal
dedication which is praiseworthy. interaction with him on various
points for about three days. I am
happy to dedicate this write up to
him and his family.

Krushna’s Ashtakavarga System is not known to many nor are there any
books available on the System in the market. Just now Krushnaji has
published a book in Marathi language and there is a great demand for
publication of the same in English too. The only way to learn his system at
present is studying the lessons found in his web site given above and in an
interactive way by joining the Yahoo groups at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/astrologyandtimingevents.
The effectiveness of the System has been tested by many Astrologers
and many have agreed to the soundness of the same particularly for timing of
events. Mrs. Sandy Crowther, the noted Astrologer of the West had
conducted a Research Study on the System on ‘Marriage/Relationship
Problems’ using this technique and the results of her research are available in
one of the messages in the group mentioned above. (Message No. 6683).
Ashtakavarga System, as everyone knows, is a method of calculating the
power of planets with respect to each other. Ashtakavarga deals with the
particular aspect of a human being as it deals with all the seven planets
excluding Rahu and Ketu and the Lagna which form the crux of the Jyotish
System.
I am not going into the details of how the Ashtakavarga is calculated.
But one must remember that the individual Ashtakavarga called Binna
Ashtaka Varga (BAV) as well as the combined Ashtakavarga called Sarva
Ashtaka Varga (SAV) both are required for calculating the power of the
planets which depend on its relative position versus other planets. The
calculation part is well explained in the lessons given on the site itself. Almost
all software also gives the Ashtakavarga positions.
The System has software prepared in Excel available in the yahoo
groups as well as in the site for download. All the calculations required are
done through this software and there is no need to do any manual calculation.
Readers can download the latest version from this link:
http://krushna.sageasita.com/kas_worksheets.htm
In this article, I am covering only the timing of marriage using the
principles given in the System. For this purpose I have collected as many as
108 horoscopes from friends and relatives which are all Indian charts and have
taken up a few charts from Astrodatabank site in order to include some
2
foreign charts also. Under the Hindu Dharma, marriage was and is regarded
as a religious sacrament and comprehends the equality of the partner to follow
the path of Purushartha which are Dharma (Righteousness), Artha (Wealth),
Kama (Desire) and Moksha (Salvation). Hence, in Hindu custom matching
of charts is done prior to marriage to know the compatibility of the boy and
the girl. But there are cases like love marriage wherein the matching part is
omitted leading to discontent in majority cases even resulting in divorce. Such
charts are worth studying using this technique. Here, I am restricting my
study only to the timing of marriage where the couple is having a happy
relationship and there are no major conflicts in their conjugal life.
So with this introduction, let me move on to explain some basic rules
entirely unique for the System which are essential to follow the analysis done
in this article. Please note that these are not the only rules applicable. It is
only a drop from the ocean.
2. Basic Rules
i. The System uses its Own Ayanamsa which is approximately less than
54’ of Lahiri Ayanamsa.
ii. For calculation of Binna Ashtaka Varga, the System follows the
Varahamihira Principle. There are variations in the calculation of the
benefic points (malefic) from a given planet – One is of Parasara and the
other is Varahamihira. The difference lies in the calculation of (a)
Jupiter’s contribution in Moon’s Ashtakavarga (b) Mars’ contribution in
Venus’ Ashtakavarga. However the total points contributed by all planet
remain the same viz. 337.
iii. There are seven planets and Lagna which partake in the Ashtakavarga
System making a total of 8. All these 8 points are to be referred to all the
12 houses and hence we get a total of 96 points out of which the positions
referred to in the classics (either Parasara or Varahamihira) are benefics
and the rest of the places not mentioned are treated as malefic points. If
a planet out of 8 points gets 5 points (commonly referred to as dots) it
means it has 5 benefic points and the remaining (8-5) 3 are malefic
points. This is a general rule of Ashtakavarga and the same is being
followed in the System also. One has to remember that a planet can get a
maximum of 8 points and a minimum of zero points.

3
iv. The strength of a planet is not judged from its placement like Own
house or exaltation sign or debilitation sign. It is totally based on the
points worked out on the basis of BAV only. A planet is said to be
exalted if it has got more than 4 points. A planet is said to be debilitated
if it got less than 4 points. When a planet has exactly 4 points it is said
to be neutral. For example Mars is exalted in Capricorn. But if Mars has
only 3 points in BAV then it will not be able to give the results due to its
exaltation position. Due to its low benefic points, it will not be able to
give better results.
v. The aspect of planets is according to Vedic System only. Only the
results produced by this System vary. A planet with more than 4 benefic
points will aspect in the same strength but in a malefic manner.
Similarly a planet having less than 4 benefic points will aspect in a
benefic manner. If a planet gets exactly 4 points, then the effect it
creates on account of aspect will be only neutral.
Next is the Upachaya Theory which I would call as a foundation of the
System. For a better understanding of this principle, readers may go through
the article of Krushnaji mentioned in the introduction which was published in
this magazine. I will give a brief explanation here. Since I am going to cover
only the timing of marriage aspect, I will explain this principle with respect to
the house of marriage which is the 7th house. As per the theory of the System,
Karaka for the result of any house is decided by the 8th house from any house.
So the Karaka house for marriage will be the 8th from the 7th which is the 2nd
house. Let us call this house as house ‘A’. The Upachaya places are the 3rd, 6th,
10th and 11th. The Upachaya houses are to be reckoned from the karaka house.
Let us find out the Upachaya houses with respect to the Karaka house viz. 2nd
house. The 3rd from 2nd house is the 4th house (which will be termed as ‘D’), 6th
house from the 2nd house is the 7th house which is the focus house for marriage
(which will be noted as ‘B’) for which we are finding the result, 10th house
from the 2nd house is the 11th house (which is denoted by ‘C’) and the 11th house
from the 2nd house would be the 12th house (which is indicated as ‘E’). These
Upachaya houses are again grouped into two categories based on the mutual
trine principle viz. 5:9. In the above discussion, you will notice that the 7th
house and the 11th house are in mutual trine positions and they are termed as
Main Upachaya houses. The other two Upachaya houses namely the 4th and
12th houses are in mutual trine positions and are termed as Secondary
4
Upachaya houses. Here one point to be remembered is that the Upachaya
places are determined with respect to the Karaka place and not from the house
for which we need to find the results.
vi. The main Upachaya houses are directly involved in the results and
hence they have been named as A, B, C – in our case the 2nd house, the
7th house and the 11th house. The secondary Upachaya houses act only
through their lords or through the planets placed in them. Such planets
(placed there in) take part in the outcome if and only they have more
than 4 points in BAV.
vii. Next is the calculation of strength of all the 7 planets based on their
BAV. It is beyond the scope of this article to explain in detail all the
rules applicable in working out the strength which is called as
WORKSHEET. I would advise readers to go through the lessons on the
web site to understand this principle. The final point arrived at as per
Worksheet will be an indicator of timing the event. More than 12 points
in the Worksheet is indicative of an event happening in its Antardasa.
Event may happen in the period of a planet having less points in which
case the quality is bound to suffer.
viii. Planets having lordship of houses 1st and 7th are treated as enemies. A 1:7
relationship always indicates opposition.
ix. Rasi Chart and Navamsa chart have equal bearings. Aspects are
considered in Navamsa chart too.
x. The next rule is that of Samdharmi. Samdharmi is a Sanskrit word. Sam
means same and dharm means custom, duty, soul, nature etc. If a planet
is said to be Samdharmi of another planet, it means it can perform the
duty of the other planet. In the words of Krushnaji ‘Samdharmi planets
are those planets that behave similar to each other or give the results of
other planets.’
xi. There are two types of Samdharmi. Natural and Functional. Venus and
Saturn, Mars and Sun and Mars and Moon are the Natural Samdharmis.
This is based on the relationship 4:10 between the lords of the houses.
Venus and Saturn are mutual Samdharmis because From Libra (owned
by Venus) Capricorn (owned by Saturn) is the fourth and from
Aquarius (owned by Saturn) Taurus (owned by Venus) is in the fourth.
5
For Mars, Moon is Samdharmi and not vice versa because Moon is the
fourth lord from Aries whereas from Cancer, Scorpio is the 5th house.
Similarly for Sun, Mars is Samdharmi and not vice versa. Mercury and
Jupiter are not mutual Samdharmis because even though from one sign
they make a 4:10 relationship, with the other sign they create a 1:7
relationship. More details are available in the lessons.
xii. Functional Samdharmi has various combinations. They are
1) The planet in the 4th house is Samdharmi to a planet in the 10th
house provided the planet in the fourth house has more points in
Ashtakavarga.
2) When two planets are in the same sign and same constellation.
3) When two planets are in the same Navamsa.
4) Rahu and Ketu are Samdharmi to the Lord of the sign where they
are placed and to the Lord of the constellation in which they are
placed. They also become Samdharmi to the Navamsa depositor
and the planets they conjoin in Navamsa.
5) A planet is Samdharmi to the Navamsa Lord where it is deposited.

xiii. How such Samdharmi planets act in giving the results are explained in
the lessons. For our purpose, it is enough to know that Samdharmi
planets generally act for benefic results only. For malefic results
(excepting death) they will not come forward. Another condition for the
Samdharmi to give the results is that it should have at least 12 points in
the Worksheet analysis. Then and only then it will act as Samdharmi.
In the course of the analysis of charts, if any special rule becomes
applicable, I shall bring the same to the notice of the readers.
xiv. The Dasa System followed is Vimshottari Dasa with the number of
days for a year taken as 365 days.
xv. Karaka also plays an important role in this. The natural karaka for
marriage is Venus and the Functional karaka as explained earlier is the
lord of the 2nd house (Refer Krushnaji’s article referred to in the
Introduction). The position of Venus and its lordship is also very
important. Venus becomes spoiled (weak) in the constellations of
Krittika, Ardra and Mula and becomes moderately spoiled in Jyeshta.
Venus gets more spoiled if it is associated or aspected by Saturn. Saturn
6
enhances the negative qualities of Venus. However, if it is aspected by
Jupiter, it controls and modifies the results somewhat better.
xvi. The distance of Venus from the Sun is also a main factor here. Up to 3
degrees from the Sun, it loses all of its qualities. Such a Venus reduces
the sex urge of the native. Up to 43 degrees from the Sun it behaves in a
normal way and after 43 degrees, its qualities are enhanced as it increases
the sexual feelings of the person.
xviii. Mars in association with Venus causes the native to have no control
over his or her sexual feelings. Saturn, if associated in this case may be a
factor as well, in homosexuality.
xix. Moon is the controller of the mind and its affliction by Rahu also spoils
the control over the mind as well as the marriage life.
xx. How are we to decide the timing of marriage? General rule is that any
event will happen either under the influence of the powerful
significators in the chart as indicated by the Worksheet points, or in the
sub period (Antar Dasa) of the Lords of the houses ‘D’ and ‘E’. For the
marriage we have already seen that the House ‘D’ is the 4th house from
Lagna and House ‘E’ is the 12th house. The powerful significators are
seen from the Worksheet for the 7th house. In some cases the next in line
which is the 12th house (house of bed comforts) also play a vital role. The
planet having the highest point is the powerful one followed by the
planet with next higher point. Event also happens in the Antar dasa of
the planet/s placed in the 4th or 12th house provided they have more than
4 benefic points in Ashtakavarga.
xxi. The main dasa period might be that of the karaka planet or it’s
Samdharmi.
xxii. The Antar dasa period would be of long duration and it must be
narrowed down. For this there are several rules.
xxiii. Whether the lords of the house ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ are aspected by Saturn. In
our case the 2nd house, the 7th house and the 11th house.
xxiv. If these lords are placed with Saturn
xxv. If Saturn happens to be one of the lords and others too are in aspect. All
these three rules must be verified both in Rasi Chart as well as Navamsa
chart.
7
a. If all the three rules are applicable, then the event will be late or
delayed. For this purpose the entire Antar dasa period will be
divided into three parts and in this case the event will happen in
the 3rd or the last part.
b. If Jupiter is aspecting the lords or Saturn is in the aspect of Jupiter,
then the event will take place in the 2nd part.
c. If Jupiter alone is aspecting these lords (viz. A, B or C) the event
will take place in the first part. Meaning that there is no aspect on
these planets from Saturn or the Lords of the A, B or C houses
have no relation with Saturn either in Rasi or Navamsa. Also none
of the planets should be in the Navamsa sign of Saturn or
constellations ruled by Saturn. That is to say such planets should
not have been placed in Capricorn or Aquarius or in the
constellations of Pushyami, Anuradha or Uttarabhadra. If Jupiter
aspects Saturn then delay is moderated and the event will happen
in 2nd sector. Jupiter need not aspect the lord. Jupiter can only
moderate the delay if it is not in the sign of Saturn, nakshatra or
Navamsa of Saturn or in Libra.
xxvi. The last step is to fix the dates which will have a tolerance level of 13
days plus or minus. For this we look to the Probable date finder list
which is attached to the software itself. This is based on the transit of
Sun. The event happens when the transit of the Sun is in the
constellation and the sign of powerful planets. Once the Antar dasa is
fixed, and if it satisfies other conditions like age, time, social customs
(popularly known as Desh, Kaal, and Patra) then we should select the
other two planets which are 2nd and 3rd in strength. This way we have
three planets. One is used for the sub and the other two for transits.
Here, we must not neglect the first planet as it may come again in
transit, due to more power, lordship of either ‘D’ or ‘E’ houses or being
Samdharmi to other powerful planets. If these lords are Lord of house
where Moon is placed, Lagna Lord or the constellation lord, they may
come forward.
With these backgrounds let us study some charts to verify these rules. Some
of the points mentioned above may be confusing or may not be clear. As I
wanted to be brief, I might not have expressed the same in the way Krushnaji
8
has explained. Wherever there is doubt, readers may refer to the lessons in the
site. Also all the charts presented here are worked out using the Excel
software provided for this purpose.
3. Analysis of charts
Example 01:
Sex: Female; DOB: 4th May. 1957; TOB: 14:25; POB: Kumbakonam, TN, India;
Latitude: 10 N 58; Longitude: 79 E 23; Time Zone: IST -5:30: KAS Ayanamsa –
22:22:4

A note about the charts: Both Rasi and Navamsa charts of the female are
given in southern as well as northern styles. In the Southern Rasi chart, the
heading number 11 given indicates that the 11th house in the natural zodiacal
order is the 7th house of the chart i.e. Aquarius which is termed as house ‘B’.
The 8th house from this viz. Virgo is the karak house and is named as house
‘A’. The Upachaya houses from house ‘A’ are 4th house (‘D’), 7th house (‘B’),
11th house (‘C’) and the 12th house (‘D’) which are marked clearly in the inner
square of the chart. The numbers given in each house represent the Sarva
Ashtaka Varga of that particular house. In the navamsa chart also the SAV
figures are provided though we are not going to use this for the present. In the
northern type, wherever the SAV is less than 28 they are marked in red. A, B,
C, D position of houses are not marked.

9
Date of Marriage is 5th April 1976.

There will be a separate worksheet for each of the 12 houses and there will be a
summary sheet also showing the powers of all the 7 planets for all the 12
houses. In the Summary sheet the Natural Karaka, the Functional Karaka,
Lords of houses D and E and many more details are available. So for a starter,

10
even if one is not well versed with the rules, the required details can be had
from the software itself.
For want of space I am not giving the worksheet here. However, I am giving
the Summary sheet in the next page for all the 12 houses.
From the final result, you can note that Mars is having the highest power for
the 7th house and he is the Lord of the house indicated as ‘D’. Hence marriage
should happen during this period and indeed it has happened.
Vimshottari Dasa running was Jupiter Maha Dasa and Mars Antardasa from
5th January, 1976 to 11th December, 1976.
It is always advisable to study the quality of the married life too as it has a
bearing on the timing of event. If the quality is going to be good, Timing will
be in the antar dasa of a high power planet. If the quality is adverse, marriage
may happen in the period of a low power planet or the 6th lord etc. However,
due to place constraint, I am not duscussing the quality here. And also I have
selected those charts where the quality of the wedded life is satisfactory. At
times if there are blessings in the chart, then the timing may get advanced.

Now let us see whether the date of marriage falls within the rules prescribed
for the probable date as given in rules (xxvi) and (xxvii).

11
The antardasa period will be 11 months and 6 days. Each part will be of 3
months and 22 days.
1) Saturn is Lord of 7th. Hence we have to verify the 3rd rule. The 2nd as
well as the 11th lord is Mercury and it is not aspected by Saturn either in
Rasi or in Navamsa. Note that Jupiter alone is aspecting the Lord of
houses A and C and hence bound to give the marriage in the 1st part
itself and it has come out to be true.
2) From the Probable Date finder sheet given below, we can narrow down
the date also.

Jupiter and Venus 29-Dec 31-Dec
The two probable dates allowing for the 13 days grace fall under Jupiter and
Saturn OR Jupiter and Mercury OR Mars and Ketu. The next higher points
in the worksheet are taken over by Moon, Mercury, Venus and Sun. Both
Jupiter and Saturn are having the lowest points in the worksheet. Look at
Navamsa – Mars is placed in the house of Jupiter along with Jupiter and
hence will be promoting the desires of Jupiter. Moon and Mars also become
Samdharmi due to their joint placement in Rasi chart. Now Mercury is placed
in Scorpio in Navamsa thus becoming Samdharmi to Mars. Hence the period
Jupiter and Mercury should be the decider.
I have analysed the chart of the husband at the end after rectifying the birth
time.
Example 02
Here I am taking up the charts of a husband and wife.
Sex: Male; DOB: 11th Feb., 1979; TOB: 19:24; POB: Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu;

Worksheet Points for 7th house:
Moon – 26 Jupiter – 22 Mercury – 15 Mars – 13
Sun – 11 Saturn – 7 Venus - 6

Analysis:
Marriage Date is: 24th Oct., 2005

Main Period Lord:

The Mahadasa running at that time was Venus. Mahadasa Lord Venus is
Natural karaka. So Mahadasa Lord indicates karakatwa of 7th, 12th and 3rd
houses.

Sub Period Lord:

The Antar dasa running at the time of marriage was: Jupiter which is from
20.02.2004 to 21.10.2006.
For the 7th house the powerful Significators as per Worksheet are: Moon,
Jupiter, Mercury and Mars in descending order of power.
Lord of House D (LoD) is Mars and Lord of House E (LoE) is Moon. Since
both are having high powers in WS they will be eager to give the event.
Marriage has happened in the sub of Jupiter who is the 2nd highest in WS and
also SD to Moon who is the highest power planet and also Lord of house E
(LoE).
Fixing the Probable Date:
Then we have to narrow it down to the actual date viz. 24th October, 2005.
From the PDF sheet we note that the period from 17th Oct. to 23rd Oct. is of
Venus and Mars. Next Venus and Rahu is from 24th Oct. to 5th Nov. Moon is
one of the powerful significators in the worksheet. Venus is placed in the
house of Sun making Sun as its Samdharmi. Rahu is in the house of Sun and
in the nakshatra of Venus and is likely to behave more like Venus as Venus
has more points in the Ashtakavarga. Venus has fewer points in the
worksheet. Hence the test has failed in the case.

The Antar dasa duration is for 2 years 8 months and 1 day. Dividing it into 3
parts, we find that the marriage has happened in the last part. Let us see if this
is indicated by the rules. Saturn himself is Lord of house B and Mercury is

15
lord of A and C. Note the aspect of Saturn on Mercury in Rasi chart. Unlike
the previous chart there is no aspect of Jupiter on either Saturn or Mercury.

Now let us see the chart of the wife.

Sex: Female; DOB: 17th Nov., 1981; TOB: 5:15; POB: Villupuram, Tamil
Nadu; Latitude: 11 N 56; Longitude: 79 E 29; Time Zone: IST -5:30

Powers of Planets for the focus house 7th
Saturn – 23 Mercury – 18 Jupiter – 18 Moon – 12
Venus – 11 Sun – 6 Mars - 4

Analysis:
Marriage Date is: 24th Oct., 2005

Main Period Lord:

The Mahadasa running at that time was Mercury. He is the functional karaka
for the 2nd house indicating family. The natural karaka for marriage Venus is
placed in the Navamsa of Mercury.

Sub Period Lord:

The Sub period running at the time of marriage was: Saturn which is from
30.07.2003 to 08.04.2006.
Saturn is the powerful significator as per worksheet. Saturn is also Lord of
house D.

Fixing the Probable Date:

Then we have to narrow it down to the actual date viz. 24th October, 2005.
The next two planets having higher powers are Mercury and Jupiter. This is
followed by Moon. On the day of marriage Sun was in Libra and in Swati
nakshatra ruled by Rahu. From the probable date table we note the following:

Venus and Mars period is from 17th Oct. to 23rd Oct. Venus and Rahu is from
24th Oct. to 5th Nov.

17
Rahu is placed in Cancer in Rasi chart and is in the constellation of Jupiter.
Of these two planets viz. Moon and Jupiter, Moon is having more points in
Ashtakavarga. Hence Rahu will tend to act like Moon. Now, as already stated,
Venus is placed in the Navamsa of Mercury and hence Mercury will step in
for Venus. Thus, we note that both Mercury and Moon have high points in
the worksheet.

The Antar dasa period is for 2 years 8 months and 8 days. Each part may be
roughly divided into 10 months and 22 days. So the date of marriage will fall
in the last part of the Antara. Note the aspect of Saturn on House A and Lord
of House C (Sun) in rasi chart and its aspect on Mars – Lord of House A and
B. There is neither aspect of Jupiter on Saturn nor the lords of houses A, B or
C though the Lord of C Sun is aspected by Jupiter in Navamsa.

Example 03:
Here is a case of Love marriage and that too Inter-caste marriage.

Main Period Lord:

The Mahadasa running at the time of marriage was of Jupiter. Jupiter is lord
of house A – the functional Karaka house.

19
Sub Period Lord:
The Sub period running at the time of marriage was: Saturn which is from
21.01.2003 to 03.08.2005.
Saturn is Lord of house D and also becomes Samdharmi of Jupiter having
placed along with him in Rasi chart. Both the planets have high power in the
worksheet. Also the highest power planet Venus is a Natural Samdharmi to
Saturn.
Fixing the probable date:
From the probable date finder we note that Saturn and Sun period is from 14th
Jan. to 27th Jan. Saturn and Moon period is from 28th Jan. to 9th Feb. Moon is
Samdharmi to Venus the highest power planet being placed in the Navamsa
of Venus. Hence, we can conclude that Saturn and Moon are responsible for
the event.
The duration of the Antar dasa is of 2 years 6 months and 12 days. Each part
comes to 10 months and 4 days. So the marriage has happened in the 2nd part.
Saturn is not aspecting any of the A, B or C houses or its lords either in Rasi
or Navamsa.

Planet’s Power as per worksheet for the 7th house:
Saturn – 32 Mercury – 23 Sun – 17
Moon – 11 Mars – 10 Venus – 8 Jupiter - 6
Analysis:
Marriage Date: 26th Jan. 2004

Main Period Lord:

The Mahadasa running at the time of marriage was of Saturn. Saturn is
functional karaka for the 5th house – indicating children related to marriage.

21
Sub Period Lord:
The Sub period running at the time of marriage was: Rahu from 31st Oct. 2002
to 06th Sep. 2005. Rahu is in the house of Venus and constellation of Mars.
Both Venus and Mars have equal points in Ashtakavarga. Hence the effects of
Rahu will be a mixture of both Venus and Mars. Mars is placed in the 12th
house which is House D and is having 6 points in its Ashtakavarga. Hence he
will be eager to give the results. But in the worksheet Mars is having less than
12 points. Venus also has fewer points in the worksheet. Now we should turn
towards the Samdharmi planets for Venus and Mars. Venus and Saturn are
placed together in Navamsa and Venus is placed in the house of Jupiter.
Saturn is having the highest points in the worksheet. So Rahu through Mars
and Samdharmi of Venus (Saturn) has triggered the event.
Fixing the probable date:
Antar dasa duration is 2 years 10 months and 5 days. So the event has
happened during the 2nd part which is from 13th Oct. 2003 to 04th Sep. 2004.
Saturn is aspecting all the three houses A, B, C in rasi chart. Saturn himself is
Lord of House C. Saturn is also aspecting Lord of B Mercury in Rasi Chart.
Saturn is aspecting Mars, Lord of House A in Navamsa. Now Jupiter is also
aspecting Houses B and C in Rasi chart, though it is not aspecting its lords.
For delay, aspect of Jupiter on C need not be considered. To determine the
exact delay caused by Saturn as well as Jupiter, the messages in the groups
will be very handy as lots of charts have been discussed on this point..
As seen earlier, the probable date can be either fro 14th Jan. to 27th Jan or from
28th Jan. to 09th Feb. in the combination of Saturn and Sun OR Saturn and
Moon. Saturn and Sun both have the highest points in the worksheet and
hence they are responsible for the event on the said date.

23
Power as per worksheet:
Jupiter – 24 Mercury – 20 Sun – 18 Mars – 13
Moon – 11 Venus – 10 Saturn - 9

Analysis:
Marriage was held on 30th March 1964 at the age of 31 years. Hence it is a late
marriage. So the combinations for late marriage are to be checked. As the
same has not been covered in this article, let us skip this step.

Main Period Lord:

The Mahadasa running at the time of marriage was of Jupiter. Jupiter is the
karaka for the 2nd house indicating family and also karaka for 5th house
indicating children. Functional karaka Saturn is placed in the house of Jupiter
making it its Samdharmi.

Sub Period Lord:

Mercury Antar dasa is from 30-04-1962 to 05-08-1964. For the 7th house the
powerful significators are Jupiter, Mercury, Sun and Mars in descending
order of power. LoD is Mars and LoE is Jupiter. No planet/s in house D and
E. Jupiter is Samdharmi to Mercury as Mercury is placed in the house of
Jupiter in Navamsa. So both LoE and Mercury have high points in worksheet.

Probable Date finder:

In the month of March when marriage was held, Sun must be in Pisces and
hence Jupiter becomes an indicator. The constellation where Sun is on this
date is that of Mercury. Both have high points in the work sheet. The period
is from 18th Mar. to 4th Apr.

Now let us study the chart of the wife of the above individual.

Sex: Female; DOB: 27th March 1944; TOB: 22:40; POB:

Thiyagasamudram, Tamil Nadu, India;
Latitude: 10 N 58; Longitude: 79 E 23; Time Zone: IST -5:30; KAS Ayanamsa:

24
Power of Planets:
25
Venus – 30 Jupiter – 21 Saturn – 15 Mars – 13 Moon – 12
Mercury – 9 Sun – 6
Analysis:
Marriage date as mentioned above is 30th March 1964. Mars Mahadasa was
running at the time of marriage. Venus the natural karaka for marriage is
placed in the house of Mars, thus making it Samdharmi.
The Antar dasa running at the time of marriage was of Venus which is from
12-03-1964 to 12-05-1965. Venus is Lord of house E and is placed in house D
with 7 points. Venus is also the highest power planet in worksheet.
If we divide the Antar dasa period of 1 year 2 months into three parts each
part will be equal to 4 months 20 days. So marriage has happened in the 1st
part itself. Saturn is placed in house B and is aspecting Lord of house A –
Jupiter and Lord of house B – Venus. Jupiter is Lord of A and is aspecting the
Lord of C – Mercury. This is the position in Rasi chart. In Navamsa – Jupiter
is placed in the house of Saturn and conjoined Mercury the lord of House C.
Hence Jupiter becoming more powerful has given the marriage in the 1st part
itself.
From the Probable Date Finder we find that the period 18th Mar. to 4th Apr. is
of Jupiter-Saturn. Both have high power in the worksheet culminating in
marriage.
Example 5:
Next I will take up the chart of Jacquelin Kennedy Onassis. The purpose of
taking her chart is twofold. Firstly she had two marriages and both her
husband’s died before her death. Secondly her birth time is fairly certain.
Sex: Female; DOB: 28th July, 1929; TOB: 14:30; Place: Southampton, N.Y.;
Latitude: 40 N 53;
Longitude: 72 E 23; Time Zone: EDT + 4:00; KAS Ayanamsa – 21:58:29
Jacqueline married President John F. Kennedy on 12th Sep. 1953. John F.
Kennedy died on 22nd Nov. 1963.
Jacqueline’s 2nd marriage was with Aristotle Onassis on 20th Oct. 1968.
Aristotle died on 15th Mar. 1975.

26
Let us see whether we are able to time both the marriages through the system.

27
Power of planets for the 7th house:
Venus – 20 Saturn – 20 Mercury – 17 Moon – 14
Mars – 13 Jupiter – 8 Sun - 11

Analysis:
On 22-11-1963, at the time of her marriage she was running Moon Maha dasa
and Jupiter Antar dasa which was from 15-04-1963 to 14-08-1964.
Moon indicates the karakatwa of 2nd house indicating family life.
The Antar dasa was of Jupiter. Note the points in the worksheet analysis
which are less than 12 indicating trouble in married life.
It is clearly specified in the System that “For divorce, no children or the death
of the life partner, marriage may be in the sub period of the planet having less
points...”
On 20th Oct. 1968, the date of second marriage, Jacqueline was running same
Moon dasa and Venus Antar dasa. Here Venus has the highest points and is
also Lord of house E.
Example 6:
Normally people approach Astrologers to know when the native of a chart
will get married. This is more often when the concerned native has crossed
the marriageable age which we can fix as 25. Under such circumstances, this
System offers a clear solution definitely. I am taking up such a chart now.
The native approached me in 2009 after an engagement was broken. As the
marriage date was approaching, the girl suddenly refused to marry the native.
The entire family of the native was subjected to humiliation, as even the
marriage invitation was printed. The engagement ceremony itself was held in
a big way and almost all the relatives of the boy attended the same. One can
imagine the pains that the parents of the boy experienced when the girl’s
family also supported their daughter and broke off the marriage. This time
they came to me with a question whether the chart of the boy has any
indications of marriage or not and if there is indication when will the event
happen?
Apart from the regular Vedic rules, I tried to apply this System and came out
with the following result. The native is likely to get married during April to
June 2010. Most probably the marriage may happen in the last week of May,
28
2010 when Sun is in Taurus (Venus) and in the constellation of either Sun or
Moon (i.e. Krittika or Rohini). I was just informed by the parents that the
marriage of the native has been fixed and it is to be held on 24th May, 2010. On
this day Sun will be in Taurus and in Krittika Nakshatra ruled by Sun.
The birth details are:
Sex: Male; DOB: 10-06-1981; TOB: 06:37; Place: Mumbai, India; Longitude: 72
E 50; Latitude: 18 N 58
Time Zone: IST -5:30; KAS Ayanamsa: 22:42:32
The necessary charts generated from the Excel software KAS2006 V3.3 are as
below:

29
Powers of the planet for the 7th house:
Venus – 41 Mercury – 26 Sun – 22 Moon – 18 Mars – 15
Jupiter – 14 Saturn – 9

The native is at present running Rahu Dasa – Mercury Antar dasa which is
from 14-08-2009 to 02-03-2012.

Rahu is placed in Cancer sign and in the Nakshatra Pushya. As such he must
be acting either like Moon – the rasi lord or like Saturn – the nakshatra lord.
In the Ashtakavarga Moon is having 5 points whereas Saturn has only 4
points. Hence the results will be more that of Moon. Rahu is placed in the
Navamsa of Venus and hence Venus becomes Samdharmi and can indicate
the karakatwa which is the Natural Karaka for marriage. Placement of Rahu
in the 2nd house – house of family also promotes marriage. Above all Moon
becomes the functional karaka for the 7th house.

Antar dasa Lord Mercury is Lord of D and hence must be eager to promote
the marriage. He is having the 2nd highest power in the worksheet. Venus who
is having the highest power in the worksheet and also Lord of house E has
conjoined Mercury making Mercury as its Samdharmi. Hence the event is
bound to happen during this Antar dasa.

The Antar dasa period is for 2 years 6 months and 18 days. Each part when
divided by 3 comes to 10 months and 6 days. Now to fix the exact part we
have to look into the aspects that the houses A, B or C or its lords receive
from Jupiter and Saturn both in Rasi and Navamsa.

30
In Rasi Chart:
Saturn is placed in 4th house and will be aspecting the 6th, 10th and the 1st
houses. None of the three houses fall under A or B or C. The lords of the
houses A, B and C are respectively are Moon, Jupiter and Mars. Moon and
Jupiter are placed along with Saturn itself and there is no aspect on Mars by
Saturn as Mars is placed in the 12th house.
Jupiter is also placed in the 4th house and will be aspecting 8th, 11th and the 12th
houses. 11th house is house C. The lords of houses A, B, C are Moon, Jupiter
and Mars of which Jupiter is placed along with Moon and aspects Mars placed
in the 12th house.

In the Navamsa Chart:

We look to the aspect on the Lords of the houses A, B or C only by Saturn
and Jupiter. Saturn is aspecting Lord of house A Moon. Jupiter is not
aspecting the Lords of A, B or C.

If only Jupiter is aspecting the houses or its Lord we can conclude that the
event will take place in the first part. Here Saturn is also aspecting one of the
house Lords. Jupiter is also aspecting another house and its lord. Hence I
concluded that the marriage should take part in the 2nd part of the Antar dasa
which will be from 20-02-2010 to 26-12-2010.

Now coming to the Probable date, the most powerful planets in the worksheet
are Venus, Mercury, Sun and Moon. Mars and Jupiter are also in the line. We
have already seen that Mercury as also Venus are both responsible for
bringing about the marriage. So the probable date should have a combination
of Sun and Moon or combinations with them by the other two planets namely
Mars and Jupiter. I omitted Mars as he is the 6th Lord and the native has
already suffered due to the cancellation of earlier marriage. So let us have a
look at the Probable Date finder sheet and fix a suitable date falling between
Feb. and Dec. and having planetary combinations between Venus, Mercury,
Sun, Moon and Jupiter.

Saturn and Moon 28-Jan 09-Feb Not Possible

Saturn and Mars 10-Feb 19-Feb Not Possible

Venus and Sun 15-May 24-May Possible
Venus and Moon 25-May 07-Jun Possible
Venus and Mars 08-Jun 14-Jun Not Possible
Mercury and Mars 15-Jun 21-Jun Not Possible
Mercury and Rahu 22-Jun 05-Jul Not Possible
Mercury and Jupiter 06-Jul 16-Jul Not Possible
Moon and Jupiter 17-Jul 19-Jul Feeble Chance
Moon and Saturn 20-Jul 02-Aug Not Possible
Moon and Mercury 03-Aug 16-Aug Possible
Sun and Ketu 17-Aug 30-Aug Not Possible
Sun and Venus 31-Aug 12-Sep Possible
Sun only 13-Sep 16-Sep Feeble Chance
Mercury and Sun 17-Sep 26-Sep Possible
Mercury and Moon 27-Sep 10-Oct Possible
Mercury and Mars 11-Oct 16-Oct Not Possible
Venus and Mars 17-Oct 23-Oct Not Possible
Venus and Rahu 24-Oct 05-Nov Not Possible
Venus and Jupiter 06-Nov 15-Nov Feeble Chance
Mars and Jupiter 16-Nov 19-Nov Not Possible
Mars and Saturn 20-Nov 02-Dec Not Possible
Mars and Mercury 03-Dec 15-Dec Not Possible
Jupiter and Ketu 16-Dec 28-Dec Not Possible
Jupiter and Venus 29-Dec 31-Dec Feeble Chance

I gave the dates marked as Possible to the family. I fixed the dates wherever
the combination of Venus or Mercury is there because these two are having
the highest points in the worksheet. I gave the feeble chance wherever, Jupiter
is found because Jupiter has got very less points compared to the other

32
planets. As said earlier the marriage is going to happen in the period of
Venus-Sun.

Out of curiosity to know why the first proposal did not materialise, I asked
the family details about the same. I got the date of marriage was scheduled to
be held on 23rd Nov. 2008. I got the chart of the girl also who refused to marry.
If I start to analyse them, it will take more pages and hence I am giving only
the summary. On the date of marriage, the boy was running Saturn Antara
and you will find that Saturn was having fewer points in the worksheet and
he is neither LoD nor LoE. Even though Saturn is placed in the 4th house in
the company of Jupiter and Moon, Saturn’s Ashtakavarga points are only 2
and hence cannot promote the event. Saturn is not Samdharmi to the high
power planets viz. Mercury and Venus. In the girl’s chart I noticed that the
period when the marriage was proposed is that of a planet having low points
in worksheet. Had the marriage been performed it would have ended in
discontent thanks to the blessings in the chart of the girl and the adamant
nature of the girl which was explicit in her chart.

Analysis:
The marriage took place on 5th April, 1976.
Main Period Lord:
The Mahadasa running at that time was Mercury who is the Functional
karaka for 2nd house indicating family.
Mercury having karakatwa for the 2nd house indicates family and
loved ones and hence is responsible for giving a family and a loved
34
one i.e. wife. Mahadasa lord indicates karakatwa for 8th, 11th , 2nd
houses.
Sub Period Lord:
The Sub period running at the time of marriage was: Venus which is from
10.11.1975 to 10.09.1978
For the 7th house the powerful Significators as per Worksheet are:
Saturn (27 points), Jupiter (26 points), Mars (22 points), Moon (16
points) and Venus (15 points) in descending order of power.
Saturn is having the highest points in WS. Venus, the sub period
lord is placed in the 4th from Saturn. Venus having got higher
points than Sa becomes Samdharmi to Saturn. Further Venus and
Saturn are also Natural Samdharmis.
So naturally Venus Sub has given the marriage. We can also find
that Venus has got more than 12 points in all the family related
houses viz. 2nd, 5th and 12th.
Fixing the Probable Date:
Then we have to narrow it down to the actual date viz. 5th April, 1976.
Having fixed the Sub period lord as Venus, the 2 planets with
higher power are Saturn and Jupiter.
From the PDF we find that Saturn and Jupiter period is from 18th
Mar to 4th Apr. That is to say Sun is in the sign of Jupiter viz.
Pisces and in the constellation of Saturn in transit.
Taking the permitted 13 day difference, it is justified that marriage
took place on 5th April, 1976.

4. Conclusion:
Before winding up, I want to present the statistics of my analysis for the
readers to judge themselves the effectiveness of the System in fixing the
timing of marriage. This is of course true in respect of all other events also as
experimented by me.

35
1. Total No. of Charts taken up for Analysis: 108
2. For timing an event the Maha dasa Lord does not play a role. Maha dasa
lord holds only karakatwa. So all Antaras falling within a Maha dasa
will have that flavour. However if such a karaka house (for marriage it
is the 2nd house) as well as the karaka lord (Lord of 2nd house or Natural
Karaka Venus) is badly afflicted, the event may be delayed or may not
happen. Since we are discussing an event that has already happened viz.
marriage, I have not devoted much on this point.
3. Antar dasa Lord is either Lord of the 4th from Lagna or Lord of the 12th
From Lagna and having more than 12 points in the worksheet: 42 charts
fitted in this criteria (38.9 %)
4. Antar dasa Lord is placed in house D or House E with more than 4
points in Ashtakavarga: 9 charts (8.3 %)
5. Antar dasa Lord is Samdharmi to Lord of house D or house E and is
having more than 12 points in the worksheet: 45 charts (41.7 %)
6. The remaining 12 charts fell under one of the categories listed below:
(11.1%)
a. Antar dasa Lord not connected to Lord of house D or Lord of house
E and not also Samdharmi to any of LoD or LoE but was having
more than 12 points in worksheet.
b. Antar dasa was of 6th Lord and not connected with LoD or LoE.
c. Antar dasa Lord had low points in worksheet but Samdharmi to
high power planets – No connection with LoD or LoE.
d. Antar dasa Lord had low points but was either LoD or LoE.
e. Antar dasa Lord had low points but Samdharmi to LoD or LoE.
f. Antar dasa Lord Samdharmi to planet placed in 4th house or 12th
house with more than 4 points in Ashtakavarga.
g. Marriage held in low power planet and there was no relation to
LoD or LoE nor Samdharmi to high power planets.
