TITLE:
Monitoring and Recording Temporal Artery Temperature

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Given the needed materials, monitor and record the temporal artery temperature of the client.

MATERIALS:

● temporal artery thermometer

● alcohol
● ballpen
● temperature monitoring sheet

STEPS/ PROCEDURE:

1. Perform hand hygiene.

2. Explain the procedure to the client.
3. Using a temporal artery thermometer, place the sensor at the center of the client’s forehead.
4. Read the temperature on the thermometer screen.
5. Record the temperature in the monitoring sheet.
6. Perform hand hygiene.
