Appreciates the essence of collaboration in and deeply understand the application of
project management in the online community.

Directions:

YouTube is one of the social media platform netizens use nowadays to share their ideas
and collaborate online with different kinds of people in the society and country by means
of uploading videos that are mostly informative. Despite of these points, we can also
say that not all the videos being uploaded in the said social media website are
meaningful and worthy to be called “informative.”

Answer the following questions:

1. What do you think are the best principles of collaboration being followed in
YouTube to maintain the number of online subscribers in the said website?
Explain. (5pts)
YouTube emerged as a platform for the collaboration of the community,
wherein some users create content, and some simultaneously view those said
content. Among the six principles of collaboration, I find Persistence,
Emergence, and Participation as the best principles being followed in YouTube to
maintain the number of online subscribers on the said website.
The Persistence principle is being held, as the videos on YouTube are
easily accessible to the community, allowing users to watch videos limitlessly.
More so, the Emergence principle is being procured as content creators focus on
gaining views by using clickbait or other means. Their goal is to gain views; thus,
they do various ways to achieve their end goal. Lastly, the Participation principle
is being upheld as per the videos made by each content creator; they have their
viewers who support and watch their published content. Consequently, all these
 maintain the number of online subscribers and constantly allow YouTube to gain
more users.

2. If you are a part of the Project Team of YouTube, think of ways on how are you
going to maintain the website and help netizens to get “newsworthy and
informative content?” (5pts)
Being a part of YouTube’s Project Team, whereby I must maintain the
website and see to it that netizens get “newsworthy and informative content,” I
shall first comprehensively observe the website’s current situation. Wherein, I
would check and analyze unto all the particulars comprising the website, from its
present regulations up to its users. Thus, I would note down the defects and
shortcomings I have observed then discern feasible solutions for them.
As for the current flow of the YouTube community, I think the most
feasible way to ensure quality content is to strengthen the regulations and
protocols when it comes to posting videos on YouTube. I am very much aware of
how massive the population of YouTube users is now, and many people upload
their own video content. To maintain order and stability in the website, I would
pursue stricter video posting guidelines, rules, and filters. Additionally, age
restrictions on the website shall be reinforced to ensure that the content being
served is delivered to the right audience. Furthermore, reported videos shall
immediately be reviewed to check if they neglected YouTube’s rules. Hence, if
certain regulations are not followed, and enough evidence is provided, it would
lead to the suspension of the account.
Consequently, I shall communicate the solutions mentioned earlier to my
project manager for discussion and approval. I would also make sure to report all
the information and circumstances I have perceived. More so, I must adequately
deliver and execute the settled current plans and goals of our team for the better
good of YouTube and its netizens.
 3. Among the five steps in project management, which step do you think
collaboration between members is really needed? (5pts)
In my perspective, all five phases of project management require proper
collaboration in order to be accomplished correctly. However, if I would choose
one stage that really needs collaboration between the members, it would be
stage 2, Planning.
For me, planning is the heart and the foundation of the whole project.
Thus, planning sets out the entire project. From the project’s concept, activities
that must be done, tasks that shall be accomplished, time frames that must be
followed, works that shall be distributed, and so on. Moreover, in the project
management planning phase, sharing of ideas occurs between the members,
whereby collaboration is significantly needed. Thus, idea contribution would lead
to the project’s betterment and completion of what the project comprises of.
Accordingly, good collaboration in the planning stage would result in proper and
organized execution of project management’s succeeding phases.
If there is collaboration, there is proper communication among the team,
which leads to unity and transparency in the project. More so, if there is
collaboration, backlashes and risks could also be addressed immediately.
Whereby immediate remedies would be discussed.
In essence, collaboration is a must in planning as it prepares and lets the
team foresee the big picture of the project. Planning is the augury of the whole
project. Thus, if proper collaboration procures, connection shall be present, and
everything would follow, including right execution, control, and may also bring
about the project's success.
