New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your admission to Mapleton City College! The main purpose of New
Student Orientation is to welcome you into the MCC community of scholars. You will
also become acquainted with campus resources, connect with other first-year students,
and prepare for class registration.
New Student Orientation activities range from serious academic discussions to informal
and fun break-out sessions and nature hikes. Many of these sessions are organized
and run by upperclassmen who are anxious to answer questions and provide practical
advice on being successful at MCC.

 Campus Clubs
Bicycle Club: the mission of the Bicycle
club is to build relationships and
organize service through bike related
activities. They also go on a ten-mile
ride once a week, and regularly
organize longer rides.
Board Game Club: The Board Game
club meets weekly to play tabletop
games. They also playtest games made
by amateur board game designers.
Bowling Club: the Bowling club provides
a positive environment for students to
socialize, bowl, and make new friends.
Campus Democrats: This is the club
where people meet to discuss and
promote left-wing political ideals.
Campus Republicans: This is the club
where people meet to discuss and
promote right-wing political ideals.
Chess Club: the Chess club is a social
organization that brings students
together from all backgrounds to have a
good time, regardless of talent level.
Comedy Club: the Comedy club
provides students with stand-up
performance opportunities to develop
their gifts of humor.
Comic Book Club: the Comic Book club
serves as a gathering place for comic
book enthusiasts to discuss, analyze,
and create comics.
Drama Club: the Drama club is for
actors of all skill and experience levels.
They regularly produce and perform
stage plays.
E-Sports Club: the E-Sports club is
comprised of students who enjoy
playing video games competitively.
Whether you like shooters, real time
strategy games, or multiplayer online
battle arenas, this is the club for you.
Paintball Club: The Paintball club
promotes good sportsmanship, team
fun, and physical health for those
interested in paintball.
Philosophy Club: the Philosophy club
cultivates relationships between
students and faculty and promotes an
environment conducive to exploring and
discovering truth.
Pre-Medicine Club: this club helps MCC
students in their preparation,
application, and acceptance to medical
school.
Society of Women Engineers: SWE is a
not-for-profit educational and service
organization that empowers women to
succeed in the field of engineering.
World Literacy Club: the mission of the

underprivileged people in realizing their
human potential by giving them access
