INTORDUCTION
The pore size distribution plays a critical
role in the recovery efficiency.
Understanding the relationship between
pore size and recovery efficiency can help
optimize recovery operations and increase
hydrocarbon production. And that’s what we
are going to discover next.

Porosity Permeability
Porosity is the fraction of the total volume of a rock that is Permeability represents the capacity for flow
pore space, It is a measure of the ability of a rock to store through porous material. It is a measure of the
fluids such as oil and gas ability of a rock to transmit fluids such as oil and gas
Saturation Wettability
Saturation is the fraction of pore space that is occupied by
Wettability describes the preference of a solid for
a phase. In petroleum engineering, it is often used to
wetting by a certain fluid, given the presence of

RESULTS AND INTERPRETATION
1.Collecting samples from a reservoir.
2.Used mercury intrusion porosimeter to measure the pore
size distribution of the samples.
3.We conducted core flooding experiments /injected a
mixture of crude oil and water into samples under
controlled conditions.
4.We monitored the amount of oil recovered from the
samples over time and calculated the recovery rates for
different pore sizes.
