Description of the assignment

Students are expected to submit a data analysis report related to their preferred field. They can
either conduct a sample survey to obtain primary data or use secondary data.

First, students are required to identify a simple statistical problem related to a field familiar to
them. The first part of the report should consist of the background and suitable method of data
collection.

Then students are required to identify and justify appropriate data analysis technique/s for their
statistical problems. They should analyze the data, interpret results and report findings and
conclusions.

You need to prepare a report

Guidelines:

 You may collect your own data (preferred approach) or use existing data

 In your report, you may use only different descriptive statistics such as tables, graphs,
descriptive measures such as mean, standard deviation, percentage. All the statistical tables
and charts should be properly labeled.

 The report should be prepared with MS-WORD.

 Your report need to have executive summery, introduction, data description, analysis, and
conclusion sections.

Report Format: Times New Roman font, 12 Font size, and 1.5 line spacing

Page limit: maximum of ten pages, excluding the cover page and the references

4. Summary Information
Numeric Summary

Discrete – frequency, percent, contingency tables, etc.

Continuous – mean, range, standard deviation, etc.

Visual Summary

Graphs, Bar Charts, Pie Charts, Histograms, Box Plots, Scatter Plots, Probability Plots, etc.

5.Analysis

Interpret results

Attach tables and/or graphs make reference to them in your report when necessary.

6. Conclusions

Summarize Results

Discuss limitations of study
