1924: Indian Citizenship Act

On June 2, 1924, Congress introduced the Indian Citizenship Act,


which granted citizenship to all Native Americans born in the U.S.
The right to vote, however, was governed by state law; until
1957, some states barred Native Americans from voting. This law
stipulated that all Native Americans born in the United States
were automatically citizens by birth. Native Americans were the
last main group to gain this right set forth in the Fourteenth
Amendment.
1925: Formation of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)
The RSS, a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization,
was founded in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. It
has since played a significant role in Indian politics
and society. the initial impetus of the organisation was
to provide character training and instil "Hindu
discipline" in order to unite the Hindu community and
establish a Hindu Rashtra (Hindu nation). t was founded
in 1940s in Kenya, it is currently active in 156 countries
and estimates 3289 branches.
1926: All India Congress Committee session
One notable event in British India in 1926 was the
All India Congress Committee session held in
Gauhati (now Guwahati). During this session, the
Congress Party, a major player in the Indian
independence movement, discussed various issues
related to self-rule and formulated strategies for
political action. This period was characterized by
growing political awareness and the articulation of
demands for greater autonomy. The 1926 session
contributed to the evolving dynamics of the Indian
freedom struggle against British colonial rule.
