Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the kindergarten learners are expected:
COGNITIVE: Identify the basic parts of the plants;
PSYCHOMOTOR: Draw plant model with labels on each part; and
AFFECTIVE: Appreciate the value of plants by knowing their needs to take care
of them

Friday, everyone!

Before we start with our activities, we will


have first our zoom ground rules.

Thank you for listening well, this time we will


have our circle time.
“Yes, teacher!”
Are you ready to start your circle time? “We pray”

II. DEVELOPING ACTIVITIES

A. ACTIVITY

This time we will have our activity, this time I


want everybody to focus and listen carefully. “Yes, teacher!”
This time we play a game, so are you excited
to play a game?

When teacher says roots, you will touch you


toes.
When teacher says stem, you will stand (The children are following what the
straight while putting your two arms on each
teacher is demonstrating)

When teacher says leaves, you will form your


arm like a letter V.
“Yes, teacher!”
And then when teacher says flower, you will lift
your arms together and form it into a circle.

That was great kids, so this time I want


everybody to sit down, and inhale some air and

B. ANALYIS “Stem”

Earlier in our game, what are the names “Roots”


that I had mentioned? “Leaves”

“I think it is about the parts of the


plant.”
So, based on names that I have
mentioned, what do you think will be our
lesson today? Yes Cid?

That’s right. We will talk about the parts


of the plants and its function.

C. ABSTRACTION

This time we will talk about the basic parts of the


plants which means some plants have in common.
So are you ready to know more about each part
and its function? If yes, can I hear a loud “Yes, “Yes, teacher!”
teacher!” from you? In 3, 2, 1,…
So, let us start first with the roots.

The root is located below the ground. It helps


to anchor the plant to the ground so it does not
fall over. It absorbs water and nutrients from
the soil and sends it to the stem. “Roots!”

So, the first part is?


“It absorb water and nutrients.”
What the roots absorb?

The next part is the stem.

“Stem performs much vital work for

minerals from the root and distributes it among
all other parts including leaves for the food

tissue is used mostly for transporting water
from roots to stems and leaves.
So again, what we called as the plant’s “The stem.”

and this is the next part of the plant.

The last part is the flower.

of flowering plants. It makes seeds,
which become new plants.

Thank you, flowers are reproductive organ of


flowering plants because produce seed to have
new plants. Along with reproduction, flowers
are also a rich source of food for other living
organisms such as insects, birds, animals and
humans.

So, what part of the plant consider as the “Flowers!”

So again, what are the 4 basic parts of a plant?


“Roots, stem, leaves, and flowers.”

D. APPLICATION

Since you all know the basic parts of a plant,


what are the things that the plant needs so that
we can take care of them? Yes Gab?
“They need water.”

Yes, plants need water. We need to water the


plants everyday so that they will grow.

What’s next? Yes, Xi?


“Sunlight.”

Yes, plants needs sunlight. The plant


especially the leaves need sunlight so it will
stay green and healthy.

Next, what the plant needs? Yes Mau? “They need soil.”
Correct, but what kind of soil? Healthy or not “A healthy soil.”

Right, we need a healthy soil or fertile soil so it


will live and grow healthy.

Anything else? What a plant need? Yes Rap?

Correct, just like us, plants need air so that it

IV. EVALUATION

This time, we will have our activity. So are you

That’s great, this time I want you to get your


pencil and coloring materials. I will distribute
this worksheet for you to answer.

“ Direction: Draw your plant model
below and write the correct word to
each part of the plant. Choose the
word inside the box.

Thank you, Masi. Kids, this time we will draw a


plant in the space below here, just like in our
discussion earlier but you can make a design
to make your plant model beautiful. After you it,
you will make a line or arrow pointing on each
part and put the correct name to each part.
You can choose your word inside the box at
the bottom. Get it? “Yes, teacher!”

So, you can start your activity now. (Children are doing the activity)

V. ASSIGNMENT

Since we are all done with our activity, we will have


our take home adventure. Next meeting, I want
everybody to bring their own plant at home. You
can bring a small plant so that it is easy for you top
carry. We will identify what kind of plant it is and
we will identify its parts. Okay? “Yes, teacher!”
