Paper Instructions:
1. The test paper contains __ numbered test items (questions) grouped in four
sections.
2. Answer all questions. There is partial credit for attempting. In case a
question is attempted multiple times, only the first response will be evaluated.
3. Please read the test items carefully before answering. You will need to read
some text and understand the context before answering the questions.
4. There are two types of test items: a selected response task with explanation
(SRT-E), and a constructed response task (CRT).
5. In this subject, students deal with real life situations, where answers are rarely
right or wrong. Some answers may be more appropriate than others. Hence an
SRT-E question gives multiple options, some more appropriate, some less
appropriate and some inappropriate. Your task is to select one or more
appropriate options as instructed, explaining your choice. In the answer
sheet, write the test item number, one or more selected options labels and an
explanation for your choice. For example, in case you want to select options B
and D as two more appropriate answers for the test item 30, then write Q 30
(B), (D) in your answer sheet. When asked so, write an explanation supporting
your choice.

SECTION ONE
INQUIRING AND ANALYSING REQUIREMENTS
Read the following paragraph extracted from the story of Ms. Sarita Sarvaria and answer the
questions 1 and 2 below.
Once, Ms. Sarita got an opportunity to visit London from her work. She was amazed to see the
cleanliness of the hotel that she stayed in. Talking to the staff there, she came to know that this work
was done by housekeeping companies there. She realized that there was no tradition of housekeeping
companies yet in India. However, if such a venture could be initiated, it could go a long way and earn
a lot of profit.
When she returned to Delhi from London, she expressed her wish to start a housekeeping business to
her boss. Her boss tried to explain to her, “It is not an easy task. You have a good enough job, why
do you want to leave it?” When her acquaintances came to know that she was thinking of starting a
housekeeping company, they also discouraged her a lot and said, “Now will you do cleaning work?”
At the same time, her relatives wanted to get her married and leave work altogether.
On one side, all this was going on and on the other hand, Sarita was constantly thinking about the
new opportunity – Will her co-workers work with her honestly? Will the clients understand her
concept and give contracts to her company? There were several similar uncertainties. And the biggest
risk was of letting go of a secure job in the hotel industry. She thought about it over and over, whether
she should start the housekeeping business or not. She was sure that if she was able to succeed, then
a lot would change. She could become a successful businessperson and earn good money. She would
be able to generate employment and would also be able to earn a name in the housekeeping business.
She assessed the risks and the consequences, and finally decided.
