Ancient Origins

During this era, independent


development of agriculture occurred in
northern and southern China. Barley,
wheat, peas, lentils, has been found. In
7,000 BC, the farming of wheat and barley
was seen by Indian subcontinent. By 6,000
BC, rice was considered as the primary
crop rather than wheat. Chinese and
Indonesian complement sources of
carbohydrates through using new method
of farming and fishing.

Middle Ages

Agricultural technologies like irrigation


systems was developed and disseminated
by the Muslims farmers and they also
manuals for location-specific farming and
wider adoption of crops. And they
brought different crops and fruits to
Spain. During this Era, they invented three
field system of crop rotation and the
Chinese invented moldboard pillow.

Modern Era

During this era, a global exchange of


previously local crops amd livestock
breeds occurred and that is after the year
1492. Key crops exportations from the
New World to Old and animals
exportations from the Old World to New
occurred. By the early 1800’s, agricultural
techniques and selection of cultivated
plants and given a unique name. In the
late 19th and 20th , mechanization and
Haber- Bosch method risen.
