G9 Unit 4: Conflict and Conflict resolution

SOI: Understanding the causes and consequences of conflict is key to
ensuring fairness in conflict resolution.

Factual: What are some of the common causes and consequences of

Conflict?

Conceptual: What is conflict?

Debateable: Does conflict have to be violent? Is it possible to resolve a

conflict fairly?

Lesson – Analyzing Conflict

Knowledge: I can investigate and discuss the different causes of conflict, using a
model and case studies.

Understanding: Unpacking what might end the conflict -- looking at specific

factors within society (women, children, displaced individuals, etc.) also looking at
the consequences of conflict (resources used during periods of conflict and damage
done)

Skill: Utilising models and data to be able to understand the route for peace, but
also use case studies to understand the global significance of conflict
