Using Colloidal Silver to Stop Fungal Sinus Infection
by Angela Kaelin
If you were to go to a conventional doctor for a
stubborn sinus infection, he would probably want to treat your sinusitis with decongestant drugs or decongestant nasal spray to help dry the mucous in your sinus passages. These treatments are problematic, however, because they typically have a “rebound effect,” meaning that once the drug or spray wears off, the sinuses swell up even worse, and the mucus becomes even thicker, thus requiring more and more sinus medication. In the case of an actual sinus infection, your doctor would likely prescribe antibiotics, which you would have to take for one or two weeks. Prescription antibiotic drugs can have a number of unpleasant side effects. Plus, there’s always the inherent danger of developing mutant, drug-resistant strains of bacteria. More importantly, however, according to a Mayo Clinic Study cited in an article entitled, “Mayo Clinic Study Implicates Fungus as cause of Chronic Sinusitis,” most cases of chronic sinusitis are caused by fungal rather than bacterial infections. And most doctors simply don’t know this — even ear, nose and throat specialists! So your doctor probably won’t prescribe you anything to help with the actual cause of your sinus condition. The antibiotics won’t work, because they’re for bacteria, and not fungi. And the sinus pills that dry up mucous in your sinus passages only provide temporary help that can actually exacerbate the situation over time due to the “rebound effect.” And through all of this, nothing is being done to stop the fungal infection that’s the actual cause of the sinus issue. According to the article on ScienceDaily.com, the vast majority of sinus infections are indeed fungal related. They write: “‘Up to now, the cause of chronic sinusitis has not been known,’ say the Mayo researchers: Drs. David Sherris, Eugene Kern and Jens Ponikau, Mayo Clinic ear, nose and throat specialists. Their report appears in the September issue of the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings. “‘Fungus allergy was thought to be involved in less than ten percent of cases,’ says Dr. Sherris. ‘Our studies indicate that, in fact, fungus is likely the cause of nearly all of these problems. And it is not an allergic reaction, but an immune reaction.’ “The researchers studied 210 patients with chronic sinusitis. Using new methods of collecting and testing mucus from the nose, they discovered fungus in 96 percent of the patients’ mucus. They identified a total of 40 different kinds of fungi in these patients, with an average of 2.7 kinds per patient. “In a subset of 101 patients who had surgery to remove nasal polyps, the researchers found eosinophils (a type of white blood cell activated by the body’s immune system) in the nasal tissue and mucus of 96 percent of the patients. “The results, the researchers say, clearly portray a disease process in which, in sensitive individuals, the body’s immune system sends eosinophils to attack fungi and the eosinophils irritate the membranes in the nose. As long as fungi remain, so will the irritation. “‘This is a potential breakthrough that offers great hope for the millions of people who suffer from this problem,’ says Dr. Kern. ‘We can now begin to treat the actual cause of the problem instead of just the symptoms.'” What the researchers are referring to in that last paragraph, above, is the development of prescription antifungal drugs for use in sinus infections. But…there may be something even better, safer and far more natural. Let’s take a look… Colloidal Silver to the Rescue! Colloidal silver is a safe and effective all-natural antifungal agent, which can be used as a rinse for the sinuses. Indeed, in one study colloidal silver was found to be even more effective against pathogenic fungi than prescription antifungal drugs. See: New Study Proves Colloidal Silver Decimates Fungal Pathogens; Even Superior to Popular Anti-Fungal Drugs Science has recently discovered that silver kills drug-resistant fungi, as well. See: Silver Kills Drug-Resistant Fungi: 2 Recent Studies And more recently it’s been discovered that silver even helps break through protective fungal biofilms that prevent antifungal drugs from getting to and the killing fungal cells. See: Study: Silver Helps Stop Candida Albicans from Forming Protective Biofilms (and Busts Through Existing Fungal Biofilms) So yes, colloidal silver is highly antifungal. And there’s loads of science to prove it. Plus, it’s completely natural. And, as you’ll see in just a moment when you get to the testimonials…it really works! Using Colloidal Silver for Sinus Infections The most common method of administering colloidal silver directly into the sinus passages involves spraying it with a nasal pump-spray or squeeze-spray bottle. You can purchase 2-ounce amber glass or plastic nasal spray bottles at many health food stores, which are ideal for this purpose. They’re also available in a variety of sizes on Amazon. Once you have a bottle, carefully, pour pure colloidal silver into it, and then cap it with the nasal sprayer top. If you can’t find a nasal spray bottle to purchase, you can always make one using a plastic “squeeze spray” bottle from your local pharmacy. Here’s an article that explains how: How to Make a Colloidal Silver Nasal Spray Bottle To administer your colloidal silver nasal spray, simply spray the colloidal silver directly into each nostril, and then cock your head back for 20 or 30 seconds to allow the colloidal silver to run more deeply into the sinuses. Here’s a short video demonstrating how one gentleman uses colloidal silver in his sinuses: Using Colloidal Silver in a Nasal Spray Bottle for Sinus and Allergies Another method is to add a couple of ounces of colloidal silver to a Neti Pot filled with distilled water, and use it to gently bathe your sinus passages. This has the effect of soothing your sinuses and delivering the colloidal silver to the places where you most need it to go very quickly. The idea is to get colloidal silver deep into your sinus passages where it can neutralize the infection-causing fungal or bacterial pathogens. Here’s a short video demonstrating how to bathe the sinuses with colloidal silver using a neti pot: Cure Sinus Infections With Colloidal Silver and a Neti Pot Experts say you can use either the spray method or the Neti Pot method, two or three times per day until your symptoms subside. This may take a few days to a week, at most, depending on the severity of your condition. Does It Actually Work? Does colloidal silver actually work for sinus infections? Of course it does. Here’s what colloidal silver user Shari J has to say: “After being very sick for weeks, my husband discovered toxic black mold in showerhead. All of my symptoms are textbook for mold illness. I was given colloidal silver at my health food store. This was the spray form and it cleared out the fungus in my sinus and ear.” And M.J.S. from Lansing, MI wrote to say: “Instead of using sinus sprays to clear my sinuses and to help prevent sinus headaches, I use colloidal silver, instead. I just empty out a saline solution bottle and fill it with colloidal silver, and spray it in my nose in the morning. And it works great. This is a wonderful product and I’m so glad to be able to have my own colloidal silver generator and make my own colloidal silver!” D.H. of Charleston, WV wrote to say: “Previously, I had struggled in the spring and autumn seasons with severe sinus pain/headache, etc. But now, I lay on my bed with my head hanging back slightly over the edge of the bed, and I drop three drops of silver into each nostril. Then I lay there for one minute (the “slight” stinging lets you know it made it there), then I blow my nose. I repeat the process one more time. Within an hour my suffering subsides, and my head feels clear.” Diane L. from Erie, MI wrote to say: “I have chronic sinus congestion & used to have chronic sinus infections. Now they are few and far between since I started putting colloidal silver into my NeilMed Sinus Rinse Neti Pot, once in the morning and once in the evening.” T.R.B. from Montgomery, TX wrote to say: “I put some colloidal silver in a nasal spray bottle and sprayed it up my nose to cure a very painful sinus infection.” J.H.K. from Maricopa, AZ wrote to say: “I’ve had my Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator for at least 5 years. My wife and I use it and haven’t had a cold, flu or sinus infection for the entire time.” C.M.W. of Massilon, OH wrote to say: “I have sleep apnea and when I go to sleep, I use a machine to help me breath thru the night. I put the colloidal silver in the water. Since I started using it in the water my sinuses have cleared up. I sleep much better and do not struggle to breathe now.” Dan F. of Naples, FL wrote to say: “I’ve had a chronic sinus infection for years. I now sniff and/or spray colloidal silver into my sinuses every day. The infection is much better. I have stopped having dry, bleeding sinus discharge. I feel that in time, my sinuses will be normal.” S. Eubanks from Edwardsville, KS wrote to say: “I had a cold which turned into a sinus infection with facial pain and purulent nasal drainage. I used a sinus rinse device four times a day, using 8 oz of warm saline solution with a tablespoon of the micro-particle silver 10ppm added to it. After a week it was gone!” Kathy B., of Las Vegas, NV wrote to say: “When I had sinus infections I simply sprayed colloidal silver up my nose three times a day while inhaling deeply, and it stopped them in their tracks. Love this stuff!” A gentleman named Jake from Richland Center, WI wrote to say: “I’ve used the colloidal silver liquid as a nasal spray for sinus infections. I have chronic allergy problem to dust, etc. for which I use Xlear nasal spray for maintenance and that works well for that. However during my last cold I had started showing green nasal discharge. So I cleaned out an empty Xlear bottle and filled it with colloidal silver using it about 2 squirts four times daily. Within a few days the green discharge cleared up and I discontinued it after five days.” Todd, from Ohio, wrote to say: “An employee had a severe (annoying to me) sinus condition that she had been fighting for about 3-4 years with antibiotics that would work for a while then come back. She had it so bad she actually had a Family Medical Leave Act “sick leave” to protect her attendance (“reporting off from work”), and from losing her job because of it. I gave her some info on colloidal silver in general and she ended up trying some (pouring some into her nasal cavities). After a week or two her condition is all but gone, with just a few “allergy” flare ups” which are nothing compared to how miserable she was and annoying to us with her constant snorting/blowing her nose.” Gary B., of Lancaster, CA wrote to say: “Another colloidal silver success story…last week the temperature dropped at night and I awakened with a terrible sinus ache…and sore throat…I went downstairs and took a half of an eyedropper of colloidal silver up each nostril and down my throat…within 10 minutes the pain was gone and I went soundly back to sleep…IT WORKS!!” And finally, Judy L. from Belmont, MI wrote to say: “I use my silver to do a nose flush in my neti pot. I mix 1 teaspoon silver with 3 drops of apple cider vinegar and a pinch of xylitol in 6 oz of distilled water. I put this into my neti pot and sniff it up my nose. I usually have two to three sinus infections during the year, but have not had one since using this. I use this two to three times a week, or if my sinus condition begins to come back, I use it every day. I also take 1 oz of colloidal silver by mouth three times a week to keep my immune system up. I am 65 yr old female and this has helped my sinuses better than anything that I’ve used in the last 40 years.” Yes, as you can see, colloidal silver really works for sinus infections. And it’s safe, and natural, too! So the next time you start feeling sinus pressure coming on, or experiencing nasal congestion or other sinus symptoms, consider spraying some colloidal silver up your nose several times a day. If you’re like the folks above, it will clear up the sinuses… FAST.
