There have been two topics discussed. The Code of ethics for professional
teachers and the assessment of students’ outputs in today’s AI Generation.

The Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers

1. DUTY TO PROFESSION

The greatest standards of excellence in education are upheld by

teachers. As a teacher, you must always give it you’re all at all times.
It implies that an educator needs to stay updated on the latest
educational methodologies. An instructor ought to be an expert in
the subject or at least masters the subject. In addition, a teacher
needs to learn how to manage the classroom, communicate
effectively, and be at class on time to provide lessons utilizing the
courseware.

A teacher must exercise critical self-discipline and judgment using,

extending, and transmitting knowledge. You must practice intellectual
honesty by encouraging open discussion.

2. DUTY TO STUDENTS

Faculty members motivate their students in their quest for

learning. A teacher has a right and duty to determine the academic
marks in the subject he/she handles and shall be in accordance with
procedures of evaluation and measurement by using the grading
procedure set by the school. In case of any complaint, the teacher
concerned shall immediately take appropriate actions and due
process.

Teachers shall recognize that the interest and welfare of

the students are of first and foremost concerns and shall deal
justifiably and impartially with each of them by promoting equality
and diversity in the classroom and always consider the students
individual needs.
Teachers shall not accept favors or gifts from students, their
parents, or guardians in exchange for their requested favors. In addition, a
teacher shall not accept. Directly or indirectly any remuneration from
tutorials other than what is authorized for such service. Finally, when a
romantic relationship blossoms between a teacher and a student. The
teacher shall exercise utmost professional discretion to avoid scandal,
gossips and special treatment to the student.

3. DUTY TO PEERS

A teacher does not discriminate against nor harass colleagues. The

school should be an environment where the teacher feels safe and
respected because if the teachers feel that they are not respected;
reduced productivity and decrease employee morale.

A teacher accepts his/her share of faculty responsibilities for the

institution which he/she belongs by diligently perform administrative
tasks.

4. DUTY TO ACADEMIC INSTITUTION

Faculty members seek above all to be effective teachers and scholars.

Also, faculty members have rights and obligations to other citizens.

A teacher must be aware of the effect of his/her decision and gives

proper due notice of his/her intentions in consideration of
interruption/termination of his/her service. As a faculty member you
should inform the administration in advance if you plan to file a leave
of absence and offer solutions to decrease any potential disruption of
your duties. As a practice, a teacher who plans to have a leave of
absence must find a substitute teacher to maintain the continuity
classes.

5. DUTY TO PARENTS/GUARDIAN

A faculty member acknowledges that parents have the right to

organize forum about matters related to their children’s education.
6. DUTY AS PROFESSIONAL

A teacher must possess a sense of dignity and composure both in

their personal or professional life. Always maintain resilience, even
when facing personal challenges. In layman term “leave your personal
problems behind the moment you enter the class” regardless of
what you are going through always welcome your students and
colleagues with a smile. A teacher must serve as a role model with
values.

A teacher shall place have self-discipline as the primary principles of

personal behavior in all relationships with others and in all situations.
Self-discipline means by following policies/rules, taking ownership of
one’s action and being
accountable for students’ academic performance.

ASSESEEMENT OF STUDENTS’ OUTPUTS IN TODAY’S AI GENERATION

There are three strategies to assess the students’ output using AI.
First, “"Announce in advance" refers to a teacher's need to inform the class about
his or her policies regarding the use of AI, including any permitted uses and
associated punishments. Secondly, "Be Discerning" suggests that when your
students use AI in their work, they shouldn't take it personally and mark it as zero.
Instead, go over and gather all of the AI-generated outputs and bring them to your
attention, particularly if you haven't made your AI policy in the class. Third,
“confirm mastery” When you observe your students presenting their work or
reports using artificial intelligence (AI). Ask them questions to find out if the goals
have been reached rather than interjecting yourself.
