“A JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY OF BEATRICE PRIOR’’

As I delve into the captivating world of Divergent, I found myself being invested to the story I am
reading, because of a thrilling journey of self-discovery alongside the protagonist, Beatrice Prior. In the
chapter of the novel, it tells us the journey our main character Beatrice would face, an adventure that
would challenge societal norms in their world has the unfolding of her identity in the world of
Divergent.

In chapter two of the novel it takes us deeper into Beatrice journey as she faces the most important
event in her life, an event that our protagonist will faces wherein she will choose her desired function.
Later after the scene where Beatrice saw the dauntless jump in the train she and her brother meet again
for the test the prior sibling sat in a long table and a across with them is their neighbor Susan waiting to
be called by test administrator to enter the testing room, unlike to prior siblings father Susan’s dad job
involves travelling reason why they have car that drive her everyday at school, Susan’s dad offer
Beatrice and her brother Caleb a ride but Caleb refuses and said they prepare to leave late and don’t
want them to bother.

Most of the test administrators came from the abnegation group according to Beatrice, but there are
also from the erudite and dauntless in the room as it stated in the rule that they can’t be tested by
someone that has same function as they are. While waiting to be called Beatrice room her eyes in the
room, her eyes first land in the erudite table who are busy reading with their news paper and switch it to
the dauntless table who are laughing into something, and next to the amity table where she saw a group
of girls in the floor playing a slapping game while singing and rhyming and compare to their table who’s
quiet and behave.

Beatrice stop from observing the room when her brothers name called, Caleb walks confidently and
enter the room by this act of his brother Beatrice is not surprise anymore as she knows his brother
capability, instead wish Caleb nothing but a good luck on what will happen to him. After ten minutes of
waiting the man get out of the room trembling, plaster pale, and sweat dripping from his fore head by
this state of his brother Beatrice wanted to ask her brother what happened but she can’t as its strictly not
allowed nor to share what happened in the test room.

The moment of Beatrice been nervous will finally happened when her name was called along with
Susan, when Beatrice arrive at the room, she was greeted by a dauntless woman with a tattoo hawk, the
woman offered Beatrice a sit and introduce her self as tori. Beatrice ask tori what’s her tattoo about that
made the dauntless surprise as she was never meet an abnegation being curios, but tori still explain
what’s the meaning of her tattoo to Beatrice.
 Before the test Tori handed a clear liquid to Beatrice and said she should drink it that Beatrice drunk
after and made her eyes close voluntarily, when Beatrice woke she saw a dog growling at her Beatrice
felt scared and saw a knife and apple Beatrice thought what she’s going to pick were she pick nothing
and let her self-feel at the ground, minutes in the ground Beatrice feel wet in her cheeks and found out it
was doing by the dog.

Beatrice glad she didn’t choose the knife because she might kill the dog, but when she blink she found
her self in other room where she saw a kid in white and the dog dragging her towards the kid’s direction
Beatrice unable to think on what to do, she just find her self jump to the dog and held it’s neck to stop
from harming the kid by that action of her she hit her self in the ground making her shut her eyes and
finding out she was on the other room again. With a seating in the corner reading a news paper with the
headline a man was murder, and Beatrice felt that she knows this man very well.

The ask her if she knew the man in the newspaper but Beatrice respond no, by the answer Beatrice
give the yell and get up on his set and tell she was lying and Beatrice again answer no, and the man
spoke to her with a low voice saying he can tell in Beatrice eyes that she’s been lying and she could save
him from the murder. But instead of being scared, Beatrice tell the man that she doesn’t really know him
and she could not save him from what happened to him.
