5.1 Straight sections Straight sections are 5945 mm long. A length of 6000 mm should be used for design
purposes. Shorter length sections are made using a straight cut. The green/yellow
protective earth (PE) conductor should be arranged to face the crane girder web.
The maximum permissible distance between brackets is 1000 mm, and 200 mm for
conductor connectors, isolating sections and end caps.
Two stop plates must be ordered for each conductor to secure against longitudinal
displacement.

6 DEL curved sections
Curved sections can be made in the factory or on site using a bending device. They
are supplied with 100 mm long straight ends for connection to the straight sections.
These straight ends must be removed if not required. A bending device for on-site
installation for horizontal and vertical curved sections can be supplied on request. The
maximum permissible distance between brackets is 500 mm, and 200 mm for con-
ductor connectors, isolating sections and end caps.

Remark: The electrical safety of 4-pole installations and 6-pole suspensions, for example, can
be improved by leaving a section empty between the three phases (PH) if the protec-
tive earth conductor (PE) is arranged on the outside of the suspension bracket.
Unguided entry operations into these arrangements are not possible.

18 Regulations
Please note:
Conductor lines must be operated in line with generally recognised engineering
standards. Reference is made to the VDE regulations, particularly to VDE 0100.
Reference is also made to the following relevant extracts:
18.1.2 Protection against direct Protection against direct contact is defined as all measures to protect persons from
contact hazards resulting from contact with live parts of electrical equipment. This may be
partial or complete protection.
Partial protection only offers protection against accidental contact. Protection against
accidental contact does not constitute protection against deliberate contact.
Enclosure IP 2X to DIN 40 050 offers protection against accidental contact. Complete
protection only begins with IP 5X to DIN 40 050.
18.2.2 Protection with safety If a nominal voltage of 25 V AC or 60 V DC is exceeded, protection against accidental
extra-low voltage contact must be ensured by means of:
• covers or enclosures with at least IP 2X type of protection to DIN 40 050 or
• insulation which is resistant to a test voltage of 500 V AC for 1 minute.
If a nominal voltage of 25 V AC or 60 V DC is not exceeded, protection against acci-
dental contact is not usually required.
18.2.3 Protective barriers Protective barriers such as mesh screens, perforated plates, etc. may only be consid-
ered as protection against accidental contact if they do not have any openings which
allow live parts to be touched with a mobile test finger according to VDE 0470 Part 1
(minimum enclosure IP 2X to DIN 40 050).
18.2.4 Mechanical strength Covers, protective mesh screens, enclosures and similar must be reliably fixed and
mechanically robust.
18.3 Arrangement for hoists Conductor lines must be arranged or clad in such a way that no accidental contact is
possible in normal operation, e.g. when mounting or walking onto crane runway and
(see VDE 0100 Part 726) crane girder walkways including all access points.
202673k2.p65/311000
Conductor lines must be arranged or protected in such a way that they cannot come
into contact with load supporting means even if loads sway.
