On the pulse of the morning is a free poem, that mean he have no set rhythm, no set
verse and no set stanza. It is written in 1993 by Maya Angelou, author and activist for
the Bill Clinton's presidential inauguration it carries a universal message of hope and
tolerance and gratefulness for the United States of America
Now I going to read you the 35 last verse because the poem is 106 lines long

Lift up your faces, you have a piercing need Do not be wedded forever
For this bright morning dawning for you. To fear, yoked eternally
To brutishness.

History, despite its wrenching pain,

Cannot be unlived, but if faced The horizon leans forward,
With courage, need not be lived again. Offering you space to place new steps of
change.
Here, on the pulse of this fine day
You may have the courage
Lift up your eyes upon To look up and out and upon me, the
This day breaking for you. Rock, the River, the Tree, your country.

Give birth again No less to Midas than the mendicant.

To the dream.

No less to you now than the mastodon then.

Women, children, men,
Take it into the palms of your hands.

Here on the pulse of this new day

You may have the grace to look up and out
Mold it into the shape of your most And into your sister's eyes, and into
Private need. Sculpt it into Your brother's face, your country
The image of your most public self. And say simply
Lift up your hearts Very simply
Each new hour holds new chances With hope
For new beginnings. Good morning.
