V. RATIONALE:
Physical education and sports are essential to a student's overall development.
Sports not only promote physical health but also develop vital life qualities like
resilience, teamwork, and discipline. Given the importance of sports in education, it is
a wise strategic decision to build a School Sports Clinic that is in line with the larger
educational goals. It gives pupils a structured setting to partake in regular physical
activity. It aids in the fight against sedentary lifestyles and related health problems.
Regular athletic activity improves physical fitness overall, cardiovascular endurance,
and muscular strength.
Project SPORTS (Strategic Program for Optimal Realization of Talent and Skills)
is one of the programs of Villaflor Elementary school which offers a venue for children
to interact, make friends, and develop a feeling of community. Students, parents, and
the larger school community feel a sense of pride and unity as a result of sporting
events and competitions. It also promotes involvement from a broad spectrum of kids,
irrespective of their backgrounds or physical prowess. It encourages diversity,
intolerance, and respect for individual differences.
Teachers, school principals, and stakeholders will be enjoined to take part in
this project, which will be done year-round.
Sources of funds will be the school’s MOOE, stakeholders and private individuals
who are willing to support the entire project.

BACKGROUND
In recognition of the multifaceted benefits that sports and physical activity confer
upon a student's holistic development, Villaflor Elementary School has embarked on the
initiative to establish a dedicated School Sports Clinic. With an unwavering commitment
to nurturing well-rounded individuals, the school acknowledges the vital role that sports
play in fostering physical health, mental well-being, and essential life skills.
The learners enjoined in the district and zonal sports competition and even in the
Mayor’s Cup 2023. They have learned camaraderie and sportsmanship throughout the
game even though they couldn’t get to the finals. Teacher-trainers found out that the time
allotment in the preparation for these sport competitions is quiet challenging. That is why
this Project SPORTS came up, a school sports clinic to develop leaners’ skill in their
chosen sports at an early stage. This would prepare them to learn from basic to the
advance skill to hone their capabilities and to be able to represent the school to a higher
sport competition.
Villaflor Elementary School ensures that there will be no interruption of classes
while foregoing the activity. To allow students to participate in this project, the training
will start at 4:00 o’clock until 5:30 in the afternoon.
VI. OBJECTIVES
The conduct of Project SPORTS has the following objectives:
1. To improve the overall physical fitness levels of students through structured
sports training and regular exercise routines.
2. To facilitate talent identification and nurture exceptional athletes, potentially
preparing them for competitive levels of play.
3. To create an environment that encourages teamwork, effective communication,
and leadership development through participation in team sports.
4. To promote inclusivity and respect for individual differences, fostering a sense
of camaraderie and belonging among students.
