Target Vocab:

Activity 1 – Review and Intro (5 mins)


-What did we talk about last class? (weather)
-Ask how are you to everyone and ‘
-review I, J, K, L word (p.12 active phonics)
-Introduce time: does anyone know how to tell time in English?
–Talk about hours and minutes and how we say them

Activity 2 – Listening (5-10 mins)


-p.28-29
-listen/point, listen/repeat, and listen/number

Activity 3 – Relay race (10 minutes)


-practice with flashcards and clock (show and repeat)
-2 teams and 1st person runs up to me
-they look at the clock and then tell me the time once finished they run back to their
team and tag the next person who comes up to me
-the first team to finish is the winner.

Activity 3 – Active Phonics (10 mins)


-last week we learned about the letters I, J, K ,L
-Today we will learn the letters M, N, O, P
-p.20 and 28, listen and repeat after me
-ask for a word that starts with ____
-balloon game with MNOP words
Activity 4 - Dialogues (15-20 mins)
-p.28-29: Listen/point and listen/repeat
-talk about articles of clothing (glasses, shoes, pants, shirt, hair…)
-Toss the animal: One student throws the animal to another and says I like your _______
The next student catches it and says ‘Thanks.’ Then repeat.
-talk about what time is it and It’s time to – we will play a game using these words.
-one person is the wolf and the rest are pigs.
-the pigs ask “What time is it, Mr. Wolf?” And the wolf answers
-the pigs should take that many steps closer to the wolf
-when the pigs are very close to the wolf then the wolf can say “It’s time to eat lunch!”
then he chases the pigs and the one he catches is the new wolf.

Activity 1 –Review (5 mins)


-Ask how are you to everyone and invite one student to change the face and word
-What day is it today? What time is it? What’s your favorite sport?
-What did we talk about last class? (food, lunch, time)

Activity 2- Listening (5 mins)


-p.28-29: listen/point/say and listen/number

Activity 3 – Months Order and Birthday Survey (15 mins)


-talk about months and what happens during that month
-distribute months and must get in the correct order
-throw the ball to one student and then they pass it on while saying the months in order
-p.33: find classmates with birthdays in whichever month
-make a class list of birthdays.

Activity 4 – Months Macarena (10 minutes)


January (right hand faces down)
February (left hand faces down)
March (right hand faces up)
April (left hand faces up)
May (right hand on left shoulder)
June (left hand on right shoulder)
July (right hand on right ear)
August (left hand on left ear)
September (right hand on left waist)
October (left hand on right waist)
November (right hand on right hip)
December (left hand on left hip)
Then wiggle hips and say twelve months in a year.
They like it when we jump and make a quarter turn after each time then repeat till we
have done it four times.

Activity 5 – Dialogues (10 mins)


-look at pictures on p.28-29: What are they doing? (point out piano, birthday cake,
singing, sun)
-listen/point and listen/repeat
-practice each dialogue with partners
-Who said it game? One student says line one of dialogue and the blindfolded student
responds and then guesses who said the first line

Activity 6- Clap (10 mins)


-say one of the sentences with a word missing and a clap instead
-students should guess the word
-the student who says the word then says a sentence with the missing word
