II. Session Details
Session At the end of the session, the learners will be able to:

paragraphs; and
c. Create meaningful sentences based on learners’ experiences that
observe the correct usage of descriptive words.

III. Facilitation Strategies


Introdu 30 minutes (FOR ALL READING LEVELS)
ctory ACTIVITY 1: JUMBLE THEM OUT!
and  The class will be divided into 6 groups. Allow them to
Warm gather and sit with their groupmates.
Up  Th teacher will explain that groupings are made so
they could come up with great outputs through
collaboration and communication. This is the same
with the first activity wherein from being jumbled and
meaningless, the learners should be able to arrange
the letters correctly to come up with meaningful words.
 Each group will be given 5 sets of jumbled letters that
they need to arrange guided with the given definition.
Once done, the group leader shall write on the board
the words they have arranged.
 The teacher will check if the groups have provided the
correct words arranged from the jumbled letters. If
done, the teacher will lead the learners to read the
words aloud to check the pronunciation of the words.
 Then, the learners will be given 10 minutes to choose
three (3) words that they will use in three different
sentences. The group shall read the sentences loud
and clear.
 The teacher will explain that those words they have
formed are called ADJECTIVES; then a video clip will
be watched by the learners for lesson introduction.

the learners to read the words individually or by group.
Pronunciation and enunciation should be checked.
 The teacher will play the given video that will discuss
the definition and functions of adjectives in
communication.
 Let the learners share their ideas on the importance of
adjectives by answering the question:

How do we imagine things? What helps us create vivid


or clear pictures in our minds?

 After this, the teacher will instruct the learners to


imagine the person the learners love the most. She will
instruct them to draw or make a caricature of that
person; then write at least 7 adjectives that will be
describe the person. The learners may choose from
the list of adjectives they have read earlier.
 Once all the learners are done with the activity, the
teacher will encourage the learners to present their
work in front of the class.

ACTIVITY 2: MEET THE ADJECTIVES!


Sentence Level (2)
 The teacher will present ten (10) sentences with
underlined words in it. She will encourage the learners
to guess the function of the underlined words in each
sentence presented.
 After which, the teacher will play a video to help the
learners understand the definition and functions of the
adjectives in sentences.
 The learners will be asked to gather as a group for a
sentence completion activity. They will be given ten
sentences each group. They have to write the
appropriate adjective needed to make meaningful
sentences. Pool of adjectives will be given to choose
from.
 The teacher will lead the checking of the learners’
answers; then, ask them to read their work aloud.

 After this, the teacher will instruct the learners to


imagine the person the learners love the most. She will
instruct them to draw or make a caricature of that
person; then write at least 10 adjectives that will be
describe the person.
 Once all the learners are done with the activity, the
teacher will encourage the learners to present their
work in front of the class.

Paragraph Level (3)

 The learners will be divided into 8 groups. Each group


will be asked to read aloud the narrative paragraph
assigned to them. After which, they will be instructed to
work as a group to underline the adjectives used in the
paragraph. They should be able to write the adjectives
on their answer sheets.
 The teacher will also let the learners answer the given
comprehension questions about the narrative
paragraph to assess their understanding.
 After 20 minutes, each group will be encouraged to
present the message of the narrative and the list of
adjectives used.
 The teacher will facilitate the discussion.
 Once done, the learners will return to their respective
group areas for another meaningful activity; that is
describing their DREAM PLACE. Here, let the learners
draw their dream place based on their imagination.
 After which, let the learners share their outputs with
their groupmates.

Story Level (4)
 The learners will be divided into 8 groups. Each group
will be asked to read aloud the narrative paragraph
assigned to them. After which, they will be instructed to
work as a group to underline the adjectives used in the
paragraph. They should be able to write the adjectives
on their answer sheets.
 The teacher will also let the learners answer the given
comprehension questions about the narrative
paragraph to assess their understanding.
 After 20 minutes, each group will be encouraged to
present the message of the narrative and the list of
adjectives used.
 The teacher will facilitate the discussion.
 Once done, the learners will return to their respective
group areas for another meaningful activity; that is
creating a story using the pictures and the adjectives
presented on the screen. Each group should be able to
work collaboratively in order to use the adjectives well.
Remind the learners to underline the adjectives used
in the story they created.
 The teacher will instruct one representative per group
to read aloud the story they have written.

Story & Comprehension Level (5)

 The learners will be divided into 8 groups. Each group


will be asked to read aloud the narrative paragraph
assigned to them. After which, they will be instructed to
work as a group to underline the adjectives used in the
paragraph. They should be able to write the adjectives
on their answer sheets.
 The teacher will also let the learners answer the given
comprehension questions about the narrative
paragraph to assess their understanding.
 After 20 minutes, each group will be encouraged to
present the message of the narrative and the list of
adjectives used.
 The teacher will facilitate the discussion.
 Once done, the learners will return to their respective
group areas for another meaningful activity; that is
creating a story using the adjectives presented on the

comprehension questions about the narrative
paragraph to assess their understanding.
 After 20 minutes, each group will be encouraged to
present the message of the narrative and the list of
adjectives used.
 The teacher will facilitate the discussion.
 Once done, the learners will return to their respective
group areas for another meaningful activity; that is
creating a story based on every member’s memorable
experience in school. After the sharing of experiences,
the learners should be able to create 100-word story
observing the usage of at least 15 adjectives.
 The teacher will instruct two representatives per group
to read aloud the story they have written.

 The learners will be asked to work in pairs. The
learners will be asked to read aloud the story given to
them.
 The teacher will also let the learners answer the given
comprehension questions about the story to assess
their understanding.
 After 20 minutes, each pair will be encouraged to read
the list of adjectives used in the story written on their
paper.
 The teacher will facilitate the discussion of the
comprehension questions.
 Once done, the learners will be divided the class into
five groups. Each group will be instructed to
create a story based on every member’s memorable
experience with their love ones. After the sharing of
experiences, the learners should be able to create
100-word story observing the usage of at least 20
adjectives.
 The teacher will instruct the learners to role play the
story they have written. Moreover, the leader should be
able to read all the adjectives used and present the
message of their story.

Valuing 30 minutes ACTIVITY 3: POWER OF WORDS

 The teacher will present a song/ jingle presenting the
importance of adjectives in communication.
 The teacher should choose three leaders to direct the
learners during the preparation.
 The learners should be able to perform the song with
simple choreography.
