IN PREPARATION FOR MEMORIZED SPEECH

1. You can freely choose any topic that you want as long as it is non-discriminatory, unbiased,
and does not only focus on one certain group of people. Go back and read the speech-writing
process.
2. You can freely choose what type of speech according to the purpose—to inform, entertain, or
persuade.
3. Strictly follow the writing and organizational patterns given in each speech according to
purpose. Refer to PPT 8, PPT 9, and PPT 10.
4. Create your OWN. Do not get speeches on the internet; THOSE ARE NOT YOURS. Let’s not
practice plagiarism. Once identified, you will receive zero, no buts, and no ifs.
5. Submit your INITIAL printed speech next meeting. Staple TWICE your papers; no paperclip,
no binder clip, and no folder.
6. Not following the format, papers will be returned. Always have your own copy aside from the
submitted paper.
