Enhancing the Properties of 3D Printed Patterns for Rapid Investment Casting Process. | MIED/IIT ROORKEE

• The conventional investment casting is a slow process as the time taken can increase with respect to the complexity of
the wax pattern.
• Rapid investment casting which uses a polymer pattern instead of wax give an inferior surface finish compared to the
wax pattern but the time taken to produce a pattern is very less.
• In this project, we apply a coating to enhance the surface finish Used minimized polymer expansion during the melting
process to overcome the challenge of shell breakage
Inventory Management for Badminton. | MIED/IIT ROORKEE September 2021 - November 2021
• The project deals with managing the inventory that can lower the storage costs by applying the Economic order quantity
(EOQ).
• This accounts for storage costs and helps to determine the ideal time to reorder products so you dont have to pay more
for storage than required.
Effect of homogenization on microstructural and mechanical properties of AA7075/TaC composite. | MIED/IIT
ROORKEE January 2022 - April 2022
• In this project, AA7075 reinforced with varying amounts of Tantalum Carbide (TaC) in the range of 0.1-0.5 wt. % were
developed using stir casting process.
• The effects of secondary process such as solutionizing heat treatment at different conditions were further examined on
AA7075/0.5TaC composite.
• we compared the intial properties and final enhanced mechanical properties and micro and macro structural properties of
the composite.
