PCG said that one of the country's ships was slightly damaged due to a collision with a

Chinese ship in the East Sea. Jay Tarriela, PCG spokesman, confirmed that the incident
occurred early on the morning of March 5 near Co May Bank, in Vietnam's Truong Sa
archipelago, when the Philippine ship resupplied the BRP Sierra Madre ship. The
Philippines posted an image of what they accused of being a Chinese ship moving
across the face of a supply ship. Mr. Tarriela alleged: "The PCG ships were exposed to
dangerous maneuvers and were blocked by China's coast guard and maritime militia
vessels. Their reckless and illegal actions led to the collision." Collision between ship

the PCG ship." Afterwards, Beijing accused the Philippines of intentionally ramming into
the Chinese ship and said that the Chinese coast guard had stopped Manila's ship. The
Philippine military has for many years reinforced the BRP Sierra Madre ship that ran
aground on Co May Bank, in Vietnam's Truong Sa archipelago, since 1999. BRP Sierra
Madre used to be a 100m long amphibious ship that was once on the payroll of the
