Acacia is a pea family genus with over 160 tree and shrub species (Fabaceae).

Acacias are widespread across the world's tropical and subtropical climates,
particularly in Australia (where they are known as wattles) and Africa, where they
are well-known veld and savanna monuments. Acacia is a dense, long-lasting
wood that can withstand climatic fluctuations. Because of its strong resilience and
natural longevity, it is an ideal choice for all exterior projects and a viable
alternative to exotic woods. Acacia is perhaps the hardest of all hardwoods to work
with due to its high density and resilience. I purchased the acacia seeds on Shopee.
On April 3, 2022, I planted the seeds on our rooftop so that I could monitor its
progress and observe the plant grow in a small clear plastic pot. I immerse the
seeds in water overnight before planting them in the soil. Soaking seeds before
planting weakens the seed's natural defenses against what Mother Nature expects,
allowing it to germinate faster. It took 9 days for the seedling to sprout. I watered
the sapling 2-3 times per week while it was sprouting. The seed has grown to 10.5
cm and has 17 leaves after 30 days (May 3). I proceeded to care for it by just
watering it on a regular basis. I checked the seedling on June 3rd. The seedling
measured 15.2 cm in height and had 20 leaves. Meanwhile, I'll tend to the seedling
and watch it grow. I'm hoping that by doing so, I'll be able to make a modest
contribution while also benefiting the environment. Let us plant more trees to help
ourselves and the environment.
