Sansevieria / Mother in law's tongue
Commonly known as Mother-in-law's League,
sansevieria is a plant native to West Africa, it
belongs to the Dracaena genus, although for a
long time it was considered part of the Liliaceae
family.
plant: erect and hard leaves that reach 50 cm in
height, these can present grayish hues and edges
with a yellow vertical band.
Regarding medicinal properties, the infusion of
this plant helps reduce inflammation, in addition to
relieving kidney ailments. To do this, 10 cm of leaf
must be cut, placed in 1 liter of water, left for 30
minutes and taken a cup every 4 hours for 9 days.
$120 without a pot. It can be sold including a pot
or just the plant.
It is a plant that helps purify the air, since its
leaves absorb toxins from it, such as nitrogen
oxide, benzene, formaldehyde, xylene and
trichloroethylene.
Elegant plant which I consider that shows
minimalism and at the time is a clean plant for the
user view when entering into a certain space. It is
a versatility plant, maintainance is perfect so it
means you don´t need to take care a lot of time
for it, of course as much as you care for it, the
plant will grow stronger and better. This plant is
included in my list for a future decorative space.
Opuntia setocarpa / prickly pear

Opuntia setocarpa, a nopal from state of Jalisco is

described and illustrated. The species belongs to
the series Criniferae Pfeiffer.
Flat cactus. Most of them are usually shrubby,
while others are trees. Its stems grow in clearly
articulated segments. The fruit of opuntia
microdasys 'Albata' is usually a reddish berry,
often protected by spines.
$170 with a pot. It can be sold including a pot or
just the plant, but it´s more common to take it on
a pot due to the thorns.
Its curious name comes from its spines, which
sting animals when they come into contact with
them, including their eyes, and can cause
blindness for life. The Opuntia microdasys cactus
is typical of warm areas and almost desert
environments, reaching several meters in height.
However, as with most cacti, it can be grown in
pots, both indoors and outdoors.
In general, I really like Nopales. It´s a plant that
represents México. For me it shows through the
thorns, the beauty of watching but not touching,
simulating a piece of Art in a museum.
SUCCULENT

The word "succulent" is borrowed from the Latin

word sucus, which means sap or juice.plant: erect
and hard leaves that reach 50 cm in height, these
can present grayish hues and edges with a yellow
vertical band.
By being in the family of the succulents and how
much water it provides, ot is a fruit and the plant
can be used for many uses such as different
shampoos, food and medical situations.
$50 without a pot. It can be sold including a pot or
just the plant. It´s a really versatile plant, fits on a
small pot and can reflects beauty.
Succulent plants are characterized by their ability
to store water in different parts of the plant, such
as the stem or leaves. Occasionally, the term also
includes plants that store water in their roots,
such as geophytes, which have a special
adaptation that protect the plant from being eaten
by herbivores.
Even though it is a small plant, reflects beauty and
the proccess to absorb water makes it a really
important plant. I really like the color, is not too
bright and also if you pile lots of them the
spectators view can be in calm due to the “waves”
each leave shows.
Citrus unshiu

Semi-seedless and easy-peeling citrus species,

also known as miyagawa mandarin, unshu mikan,
cold hardy mandarin, satsuma mandarin, satsuma
orange, naartjie, and tangerine.
It is usually seedless, and is about the size of
other mandarin oranges (Citrus reticulata).
Satsumas are known for their loose, leathery skin;
the fruit is very easily peeled in comparison to
other citrus fruits.
$350 which is more common to see on a pot if
your home is flex on having a garden, or you can
plant it on your garden.
They can be grown from seed, which takes about
eight years until the first fruits are produced, or
grafted onto other citrus rootstocks, such as
trifoliate orange.
Due to the fact that it provides a fruit, personally it
is a light color tree, which main purpose it to give
the total protagonism to the tangerine color. It´s a
simple but powerfull plant which can be really well
used at your home.
Salvia rosmarinus /ROSEMARY

Mint family (Lamiaceae). Rosemary is a typical

Mediterranean herb whose area of origin is the
Mediterranean. Some sources even mention the
region of Dalmatia, which today belongs to the
countries of Croatia and Montenegro.
Due to it´s versatility, it can go from culinary
areas, medical uses and fragance. Itá a full
characteristic plant. The perennial reaches in its
natural range growth heights up to 2 meters (6.5
ft). The cultured species, however, usually only
reach heights of growth between 70 and 100 cm
(28 and 40 in).
The price depends on the size but can start from
$30.
It is unsurprising that rosemary is otherwise
known as the 'wonder-herb'; it has an array of
uses from adding flavour to cooking and fragrance
to perfumes, to decorating sunny garden borders
and even improving memory.
Talking about smells and if I see myself on my
perfect garden, rosemary is a must due to the
great smell that provides. Being able to make a
place smell better, use it for different food
receipes and also mixing it with alcohol makes it a
really complete plant.
Zantedeschia ethiopica / alcatraz

Ethiopian creek, Ethiopian hoop, water lily,

cartridge, duck flower, jug flower and / or of
course gannet.
Plant: It is a perennial rhizomatous herbaceous
plant, which reaches a maximum height of one
meter, and is cultivated as a garden or indoor
plant.
But we are going to focus on its flowers, which are
actually erect inflorescences called spadices.
They can be 4 to 18cm long
$250
It is monoecious, which means that it has female
flowers and male flowers. They are both on the
same floor. The female ones are below the male
ones, the latter being the ones that form the
yellow anthers. All parts of Zantedeschia are toxic,
but only if ingested.
The white plant that becomes the biggest element
of it makes it look a really important and unique
plant. Providing a good looking and also elegance
makes it a plant that is common to see on
expensive stages. The brightness of the white
makes you look at it, combining it with natural
light, makes you look to it immediatly even though
ypu are fully surrounded of other colorfull flowers.
Rubber tree

Native to southern China, Southeast Asia, and

Indonesia, Ficus elastica is a species of evergreen
tropical tree.
plant: Outdoors, this plant can reach an ultimate
height of about 30 ft. (10 meters) and will have a
spread of about 10 ft. (3.2 meters) over the years.
Grown indoors, it will still be somewhat large,
likely reaching 6 to 10 ft. or 2 to 3 meters, if
provided the proper conditions.
$350 at a certain height without a pot. It can be
sold including a pot or just the plant.
It is tolerant of indoor light conditions, and NASA
has even recommended its air-purifying
properties. What’s more, the plant boasts an
unusual history. Along with Hevea brasiliensis, it
has been used for its latex sap to make rubber—
hence its nicknames, rubber fig, and rubber tree
By watching it it´s a different plant and simple but
by reading of it I discover the capacity of the
roots to be usefull as a bridge. A dead tree trunk
is placed across a river, and the Ficus elastica
roots are guided along the trunk. As the trunk
rots, the roots grow to the other side and thicken,
and more roots are trained to complete the now
wind- and flood-resistant bridge.
Elephantopus carolinianus

Elephantopus carolinianus var. simplex ,

Elephantopus nudicaulis
It prefers average, well-drained soil in full sun to
partial shade. It has a short rhizome and grows
quickly to a height of 2 feet with pink or purple
flowers. The leaves form at the base of the plants,
are of various sizes, overlap each other around
the stem, and lay flat close to the ground. The
flowering stalk has no leaves, with the exception
of the bracts under the flowers.
$8500 . It is commonly selled on a pot, for me it´s
expensive but after learning of it,the plant needs
around 15 yers to get that enourmus size on the
root and so the price.
Elephant's foot is a wildflower in the Asteraceae
(daisy family) native from Texas to the
southeastern U.S.A. It can be found growing in its
natural habitat of fairly dry woodlands and
woodland borders. It may also be found in
disturbed areas such as roadsides, clear cut, or
burned locations.
A different plant due to the size of the root. I
really don´t like this plant on how it looks, but
either way I think that due to the big root it has,
thats the personality of it and makes it special.
Tradescantia spathacea

The peace lily or cradle of Moses (moses cradle)

is native to Mexico and tropical America
Moses' cradle is a herbaceous perennial with large
leaves 12-65 cm long and 3 cm wide. Additionally,
it flourishes. Its buds are long white flowers that
often live much longer than others.
$250 with a pot. It can be sold including a pot or
just the plant.
The peace lily is ideal to have at home, since it is
not only a plant that looks elegant in the
decoration of the home, but it also provides peace
of mind to sleep better and, in addition, it is
capable of trapping dirt to prevent it from
dissipating in the house and affects food, other
plants or surfaces.
I just learned that this plant helps to keep the
space clean, which is for me very important to
consider into one specific area. Simple plant, long
leafs but strong on beauty. Is not my favorite, but
for sure I would consider it into my architecture
design.
Philodendron x 'Xanadu

Genus name comes from the Greek words phileo

meaning "to love" and dendron meaning "tree" for
the affinity of many species to climb trees.
Mature plants can reach up to 4' tall with a 5'
spread. The glossy, deeply lobed leaves are held
on long petioles and can reach up to 12" long and
7" wide. The foliage emerges from a stout,
typically unbranched stem. The 4.5" tall, arum-
type inflorescence has a dark red spathe
surrounding a creamy white spadix.
$3500 without a pot. It can be sold including a pot
or just the plant.
Tropical accent for mixed borders or container
plantings. Mass to create a large ground cover.
Suitable for use in a conservatory or as a
houseplant.
The repeating pattern of its leaves makes it look
amazing. The green color that supports the
movement of every leave, without making a lot of
noise in terms of brightness. It is perfect to put on
your house, to make a space special is what really
calls my attention on this plant.
CONRADINA

Conradina is a genus of flowering plants in the

mint family, Lamiaceae.[1] Its common name is
false rosemary, or rarely, short leaf rosemary.
False rosemary has been suggested as a
landscaping plant for xeriscaping because it is
drought tolerant and grows well with little water,
even in poor soils.
False rosemary has flowers and scent similar to
those of Rosmarinus officinalis.
$70 without a pot. It can be sold including a pot or
just the plant.
False rosemary is adapted to dunes and open,
scrubby areas. It is a woody perennial shrub, often
with masses of white to lavender blooms in the
early spring or fall. These blooms attract several
species of bees. Conradina often has a scrubby
appearance.
It is a plant that called my attention due to the
similarity with the typical rosemary, but analyzing
it it´s quite differnt and for me there is no
comparison betwenn rosemary and conradina. I
prefer rosemary, but this one is good by
simulating the real one.
Sansevieria / Mother in law's tongue

Sedum dendroideum is a species in the

Crassulaceae family. Its common name is Maria's
tear.
plant: erect and hard leaves that reach 50 cm in
height, these can present grayish hues and edges
with a yellow vertical band.
In traditional Brazilian medicine, the fresh juice of
the leaves of the plant is used for the treatment of
gastric and inflammatory disorders. In 2005, a
medical research article was published studying
its uses, finding that it was antinociceptive and
anti-inflammatory in mice.
$50 with a pot. It can be sold including a pot or
just the plant.
Due to its appearance and resistance, like many
plants in the sedum family, it is cultivated as a
garden plant. In winter, its leaves turn red.
Well looked plant, which is easy to look after,
small leaves which make in complement a perfect
plant. It is simple, but by changing it´s color
makes it even more special.
LILIUM CANDIDUM

Lilium is a genus of herbaceous flowering plants

growing from bulbs, all with large prominent
flowers.
Lilies are a group of flowering plants which are
important in culture and literature in much of the
world. Most species are native to the Northern
Hemisphere and their range is temperate climates
and extends into the subtropics. Lilies are tall
perennials ranging in height from 2–6 ft (60–180
cm).
$70 without a pot. It can be sold including a pot or
just the plant.
The flowers are large, often fragrant, and come in
a wide range of colors including whites, yellows,
oranges, pinks, reds and purples. Markings
include spots and brush strokes. The plants are
late spring- or summer-flowering. Flowers are
borne in racemes or umbels at the tip of the stem,
with six tepals spreading or reflexed
One of the wonderful aspects of the Lilium, or lily,
plant is its exquisite beauty. Lilies are renowned
for their stunning, often fragrant flowers that
come in a variety of vibrant colors and elegant
shapes.
bigleaf hydrangea

Hydrangea macrophylla, commonly called big leaf

hydrangea, is a deciduous shrub with a rounded
habit that, in the St. Louis area, typically grows 3-
6’ tall and as wide unless damaged by harsh
winters or pruned smaller. 6.00 to 10.00 feet.
Hydrangeaceaes are dicotyledon or dicots, which
means they have two cotyledons or seed leaves.
The fruit of hydrangea plants is typically shaped
like a cup or capsule, but it may sometimes be
berry-like. The seeds inside are often winged
$120 without a pot. It can be sold including a pot
or just the plant.
Best grown in rich, medium moisture, well-drained
soils in part shade. Tolerates full sun only if grown
in consistently moist soils.
For me it´s a colorfull plant, which can be a very
used plant for different gardens to make it look
much elegant and full of colors. it´s crazy how you
can change the colors by adding certain amount
of soil.
Olea europaea /oLIVE
European olive tree, common olive tree.Evergreen
fruit-bearing or fruitless tree.
Most fruits (or drupes) start out green and turn a
blackish-purple color when fully ripe, but they
vary widely in size, shape, oil content, and flavor.
Fruitless olive tree cultivars produce flowers but
little to no fruit..15 to 30 feet tall; 6 to 8 feet for
dwarf varieties.
$2000 without a pot. It can be sold including a pot
or just the plant. It common to by the tree and
plant it at your garden, so it can be mixed with the
natural space.
olive trees are one of the oldest cultivated trees in
the world, prized not only for their flavorful fruit
but also for their many ornamental attributes. With
their silvery foliage, gnarled trunks, and clusters
of fragrant white flowers in spring, these
distinctive trees are beautiful garden focal points
in all seasons.
My favorite plant, it´s a clean plant. Stands for the
beauty of the color, versatility no matter the place
it stands. Actually is a really common plant and for
me it provides not only beauty, but fruit also and
is one of our daily food on every meal. Peacefull
spaces become much better by implementing this
tree on the area.
