STRUCTURE

Simple

Bougainvillea is a genus of thorny ornamental vines,


bushes, or trees. The inflorescence consists of large
colourful sepallike bracts which surround three simple
waxy flowers. It is native to South America from Brazil
west to Peru and south to southern Argentina.

Caricature plant (Graptophyllum pictum) is an


evergreen, ornamental shrub. It can grow to 6 – 9 ft
tall. Graptophyllum pictum is basically grown for its
variegated foliage.

India rubber plant, (Ficus elastica), also called India


rubber tree, large tree of the family Moraceae, once
an important source of an inferior natural rubber. It
was largely replaced as a source of rubber by the
unrelated rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) in the early
20th century. The India rubber plant is native
to Southeast Asia and is commonly grown as an indoor
pot plant elsewhere. The young plants are durable
and grow well under less-than-ideal indoor conditions.

Calabash tree, (Crescentia cujete), tree of the


family Bignoniaceae that grows in parts of Africa,
Central and South America, the West Indies, and
extreme southern Florida. It is often grown as an
ornamental; however, it is also used in traditional
systems of medicine. The tree produces large
spherical fruits, up to 50 cm (20 inches) in diameter, the
hard shells of which are useful as bowls, cups, and
other containers when hollowed out.

festive celebrations throughout Southeast Asia.

Yellow archangel is the common name of Lamiastrum


galeobolon, an herbaceous perennial plant used as a
low-growing ornamental. Lamiastrum means
“resembling Lamium“, referring to the similar-looking
deadnettles that are also grown as ornamental

has been used and advocated in Indian medicine for
ages. In Sanskrit, Giloy is known as ‘Amrita’, which

called papaw or pawpaw, succulent fruit of a
large plant of the family Caricaceae. It

some climates than in others. It is a popular breakfast
fruit in many countries and is also used in salads, pies,

China Rose and Shoeflower. In the Philippines,
gumamela is cultivated as an ornamental plant. The

combinations.

The common polypody is a medium-sized fern that is


characteristic of damp, shady gorges and banks in
woodlands, as well as rocks, walls and mossy
branches. It can also survive in quite dry conditions
and is ideal for gardens - plant it in shade under trees,
