Aglaonema spp.

Plants for partial shade. The simple rule to follow for this slow-growing
plants is this: the lighter the variegation, the more light it needs. They have large oval leaves on
short stems.
Do not expose the Aglaonema to direct sun. It should be planted in a humid area and watered
often. A slow-release fertilizer should be given regularly. Aglaonema can be divided during
repotting. Small shoots can be potted as individual plants.
Aglaonema plants are poisonous due to calcium oxalate crystals. If ingested they cause irritation
of the mucous membranes, and the juice can cause skin irritation and
painful rash.
A. commutatum is native to the Philippines.
Adiantum raddianum.

Delta maidenhair is can be seen on tropical places and subtropical South America. The
maidenhair likes full shade in a humid area and moist but well-drained soil. Adiantum raddianum
is a hardy plant despite its fragile looks under proper growing conditions. Remove dead and
damaged fronds to enable new ones to grow.
Alpinia Purpurata
Alpinia purpurata, also called red ginger, ostrich plume, and pink cone ginger, are native Malaysian plants
with showy flowers on long, brightly colored red bracts. They look like the bloom, but the actual flower is
the small white flower on top. This plant can also grow in the Philippines or some tropical countries.
Epipremneum Pinnatum
Epipremneum Pinnatum is native to Cebu, Philippines. Although it’s mainly known for its silver-bluish
hue, the Cebu Blue is unique in other ways compared to other pothos varieties. It has two distinct phases
and appears different in each one. During its earlier stages, it has bluish, elongated leaves, and as it
matures, the leaves start to split, making it look somewhat like a monstera. So, if you’re a fan of
Monsteras but want something a bit different, check out the Cebu Blue Pothos.
Moth Orchid (Phalaenopsis Schilleriana Orchid)
The Phalaenopsis schilleria can be seen in several areas in the Philippines, including Quezon,
Laguna, Cavite, Bicol, Marinduque, and Eastern Visayas. This particular species has been
attributed to helping the diversification of orchid hybrids precisely due to its pink color and the
number of flowers per stalk.
Hibiscus Rosasinensis

Hibiscus Rosasinensis, also known as Gumamela in the Philippines, displays a range of

vibrant colors and boasts large, stunning flowers. It adds beauty to any landscape and attracts

butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. The flowers are used to brew a tea commonly served in

popular coffee establishments like Starbucks. This beverage, whether enjoyed hot or cold,

offers medicinal advantages such as lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, treating liver

disease, and reducing the risk of cancer. Additionally, Filipino children create bubbles by

mixing the flowers' leaves with soapy solution.

Hedychium coronarium

The Ginger lily, known as Kamia in the Philippines, features tall green stalks that grow

up to 1.5 meters in height. Its lush green foliage serves as a stunning backdrop for smaller

plants. The flowers of the Ginger lily are a delightful sight, whether it's daytime or

nighttime, with their delicate white color providing a calming effect and their perfumed

scent offering therapeutic benefits. It's no surprise that butterflies and bees are drawn to

these flowers.
Aglaia odorata

The Chinese perfume plant, or sinamomong sunsong in Tagalog, is grown for its

decorative nature and fragrant flowers. It can grow up to 6 meters tall and thrives in

sunny, moist soil. The small yellow flowers bloom multiple times a year and emit a

pleasant fragrance in the evening. In Asia, the dried flowers are used to perfume clothes

and add scent to tea. The plant's roots and leaves are also utilized for treating fever and

addressing menopausal issues.

Dendrobium sp.

These orchids are popular in the plant trade and come in numerous varieties. They are

low-maintenance, requiring crowded root placement in pots and ample sunlight. Each

type of Dendrobium sp. has its own specific growth requirements, ensuring you can find

one suitable for your environment.

Caladium humboldtii

This versatile plant thrives in various conditions and requires regular watering. It reaches

a height of 20 cm and has heart-shaped green leaves with prominent white areas. It serves

as a beautiful ground cover that complements any garden.

Ervatamia divaricate

The Crape jasmine, also known as Pandacaqui in the Philippines, is a striking shrub that can grow

up to 2 meters in height. Its branches grow parallel to the ground, giving it a distinctive and

appealing appearance. The flowers of this plant are waxy, fragrant, and white, with 5 petals, and

they bloom abundantly all year round. It propagates easily with sunlight and regular watering.
