1. Give Physical Changes occur during puberty age. Two for Boys, Two for GIrls and

another two for both of them

Biological changes constitute the major transition from childhood to early adolescence in all

cultures. This is manifested by a change in physical appearance, a faster rate of development (second

only to the rate of growth of the fetus in the uterus), known as a growth spurt. The phenomenon

frequently causes a sense of awkwardness and unfamiliarity with bodily changes. Moreover, the physical

changes of puberty for a boy typically begin with enlargement of the testicles and the sprouting of pubic

hair, followed by a growth spurt between the ages of 10 and 16 — on average 1 to 2 years later than for

girls. His arms, legs, hands, and feet grow at a rate that is faster than the rest of his body. is shoulders

broaden and he gains weight and muscle, his body shape will begin to change. Meanwhile, for

girls, the first sign of puberty is breast development, but it can also be pubic hair growth. As she

develops the contours of a woman, her body will begin to accumulate fat, particularly in the

breasts and around her hips and thighs. Her arms, legs, hands, and feet will all grow in size.

Similarly, during puberty, both girls and boys develop or grow their pubes and Hormone levels.

It promotes sexual maturity in both of them and allows them to start a family.

2. What is late Childhood? Give at least one observable characteristics of Intermediate

schooler in terms of Physical, Cognitive and socio-emotional development.

Late Childhood, also known as Intermediate Schooler, refers to students aged 9 to 12 years old.

Physical changes in this group of children are unpredictable during this stage. Since children gain an

average of 7 pounds per year, they are becoming fatter as well as taller. Each year, they gain an average

of 1 pound in weight, 2 1/2 inches in height, and an inch in head circumference. Girls appear chubby,
whereas boys have more lean mass per inch of height than girls. Furthermore, it is the development of

perception that determines how the child thinks, learns, and communicates. At this age, children are

capable of taking other people's perspectives and understanding/considering their own. Similarly, moral

development occurs during this period, and children gain a stronger sense of right and wrong, as well as

a better understanding of what is acceptable behavior in their society. As a result, even in unfamiliar

situations, children have a clear idea of what is wrong or right.

3. What is Adolescence? Give at least two observable characteristics of high-school

learner in terms of Physical, Cognitive and socio-emotional development.

Adolescence is the transitional period between childhood and adulthood. Adolescence is a

crucial period that shapes how a person views and interacts with the world as an adult. Children

entering adolescence go through a lot of changes. In terms of physical changes, there is a

growth spurt and sexual maturation. Growth hormone causes gradual increases in body size and

weight, but hormone flooding occurs during adolescence, resulting in an acceleration. Body

changes include changes in body dimensions (leg length, shoulder width, trunk growth rather

than leg growth), as well as changes in reproductive organs such as the growth of the testis,

scrotum, and penis for boys and menstruation for girls. Besides that, cognitive changes include

the formation or expression of one's own thoughts on a variety of topics, as well as

consideration of one's own code of ethics. Furthermore, during adolescence, socio-emotional

development includes self-understanding (begins to see his/her role and importance in society)

and self-image (appreciation of what and how oneself builds).
