Shun Kenzaki X Elliot Michaelson

“PLEASE DON’T! DON’T!”

Elliot’s eyes flew open and found Shun hovering right in front of her, his brows are scrunched
together as his wary eyes stared at her.

“Are you alright? You had a nightmare.” He said and just then she realized the strong pounding of
her heart within her chest. He also had his uninjured hand wrapped on her shoulder as she slowly
sat up from her bed, slowly he let go of her as she reaches for her head to grasp it.

“I’m alright.” Elliot responded in a low voice, but truth be told she was still rattled from the said
nightmare.

Suddenly, there’s a glass of water appeared in her line of her visions she looked up and saw Lana
handing it to her.

“I just thought you might need it. You’ve been screaming for quite a while; we couldn’t get through
your room. We thought you were being attacked.” The woman stated and Elliot felt embarrassed for
making them worry over such miniscule thing.

“I’m sorry.” She apologizes and Lana smiled at her. “Don’t be. We all have our nightmares.” The glass
of water was then shoved to her hand. Elliot mumbled a thank you and drank it.

“Breakfast will be ready in few minutes now.” Abigail called out from the door way.

Lana squeezed Elliot’s arm reassuringly before exiting her room, leaving Shun with her. He just stood
nearby her bed as he stared at her, a pensive look was in his eyes but for her his constant staring has
become somewhat awkward.

“Is there something you need?” She attempted to question him and this had snapped him out of his
short reverie.

“Nothing, it’s just…I really did think you were attacked.” He confessed and this has slightly surprised
her.

Elliot sighed, running a hand through her hair. She rarely screams in her dreams but perhaps the
yesterday events had triggered it.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have made you all worried like that.” She once again apologizes and like what
Lana said, he also said – “There’s no need for you to say it...” They might not make it much of a big
deal but for her it is, especially when it gave such thought that she was attacked was all the more
reason for her to apologize. “You better get up or there won’t be no breakfast left for you if you’ll be
late.” He added and she nodded at him with humorous smile. He then left her room and she got off
her bed to prepare for the day.

When she stepped into the mess hall and sat on one of the tables, the others – Logan, Katie and
Baum sat on the next table. Shun suddenly rounded from behind Elliot and placed a cup of coffee in
front of her. She mumbled a thank you to him and took a sip from his coffee, grimacing after finding
it quite strong.

“Too strong?” Shun questioned, obviously catching her reaction.

“It’s been a while.”

“Two years is a pretty long caffeine detox.” He stated while taking a sip from his own cup. She still
can’t believe they had actually slept for 2 years. Not that it’s something surprising in their current
century, cryostasis is not a new thing but for her going through it for the first time had left a strange
impression.

Abigail and Lana then walked in from the kitchen, handing them their fair share of plate from the
tray she was carrying. Lana decided to take a seat next to Shun whereas Abigail remained standing
as she looked around the room.

“Are Lee and Henri still not up?”

Now that she asks it, only did Elliot took notice. The two might be oversleeping, specifically Henri.
Amongst them he took quite the stress. After what happened to Venisha and Eric.

“You didn’t check him in his room?” Lana queried and Abigail responded with a quick no.

“They might be just oversleeping.” Katie inputted the same thought Elliot has. “I’d rather eat my
breakfast while it’s hot.” Logan added and they all have somewhat came into an agreement.

Abigail took a seat next to Elliot and together, they ate peacefully. By the time they are almost done
Lana’s small radio which she had actually brought crackled and on the other side was Henri.

“Can you come to the med-bay? Bring Elle and Shun with you.” He said and then cut-off the
connection before the woman could respond to him. The three mentioned stared at each other
wondering on what could he be needing from them this time.

Once they finished their meals, Shun, Elliot and Lana headed straight to the med-bay. What they
found in there wasn’t something they even want to be believe. Lying on the stretcher was Eric’s
corpse, his head already open with his brain discarded. No alien veiny thing on it. He said, him and
Lee had found him already dead in the pool within the recreation area.

“What is this?” Lana demanded in shock as she looked at the corpse then Henri who looked just as
uncertain.

“You said you ejected him from the ship!” Shun exclaimed distraught, his loud voice bouncing within
the room.

“I went back to the compression chamber. There was another exit on the ceiling. A maintenance
hatch. He must have climbed to...”

“It has to have died right?” Elliot cut him off.

“There’s no trace of the black fluid. Wherever the alien is, it didn’t expire inside…”

“Not finding it doesn’t prove…”

“They can’t survive without a host.” Henri suddenly raised his voice. “It’s like there’d been a fight at
the pool. His shirt was torn and we found blood.”

“What are you saying?” Shun.

“I believe Eric encountered someone last night, and that person came away carrying the parasite.”

“’Someone’. One of us, because you said it was safe.” Shun bellowed in growing anger.
“I thought we were safe.” Henri muttered sounding almost defeated

“You were fucking wrong!” Shun shouted at Henri’s face. “And if what you’re saying is true, this is
about to become a witch hunt.”

“We have to keep this contained.” Lana.

“The fuck is going on here?” It was Logan, suddenly appearing from the door. With him is Katie and
Baum. And before they can have their answers, their eyes right away landed at Eric’s corpse. There’s
their answer.

“How is he still here?” Katie voices in disbelief.

Logan stepping closer and noticing the brain lying on the table. “Where is it?!” He began, Elliot fully
knowing well what he was actually looking for. He steps closer to Henri. “Tell me it’s in a fucking jar
somewhere!” But Henri remained silent, looking all too guilty. And he understood. “Jesus Christ.”

“So, there’s an alien loose on this ship?” Baum simply declared.

Lana, Elliot and Henri exchange knowing looks. Lana shaking her head in complete dismay. Logan
saw the exchange and he turned back his attention to Henri, pointing an accusing finger to the man.

“You think it’s still here, don’t you? You think it’s infected someone else.”

“One of us.” Katie breathed loud enough for the others to hear.

“So much for contained.” Shun scoffed and then stormed out of the room.

“Tell me you got a theory, Doc.” Logan said to Henri and scoffs as well when Henri still remained
speechless. “Great. Great. That’s fucking great.”

“Who found him?” Baum questioned.

“We need to scan Taylor’s brain.” Henri suggested as Elliot and Lana helped him haul Taylor’s corpse
up on the operating bed.

“So, you think something might show up on the scan?” Lana queried.

“If we can see the remnants of the creature inside Taylor, or even the calcified hippocampus.”

“We’d identify those things in a living person. We could test for the infection.” Lana.

“If one of us even denies to undergo in this procedure, we’d right away know it’d be them.” Elliot
nodded and the two others nodded in agreement.

Henri then positioned Taylor’s corpse under the scanner and prepared to run for it. But Lana had to
hold him up.

“Wait. The idea of making this some kind of test, isn’t it gonna pit us all against each other?” She
questioned in reluctance. Henri stared at her pointedly. “What does it matter as long as we can solve
this thing.” He then pressed a command on the glass projector to start the scanning.

“Okay, I think we’re ready.” But then the screen projected him with another line of passcode to be
inputted. He attempted to put the code for the entrance door of the med-bay but it was denied.
“Shit.”

“It needs another passcode.” Elliot muttered. “Most likely Rey knows.”
Elliot was about to leave the room when the door opened from the outside and entered was Shun
looking slightly disgruntled look. She might have not noticed it herself but Lana cocked her gun as if
ready to shoot if only it wasn’t a familiar face. Or perhaps it was the thought that he might disrupt
what they’re about to do and she couldn’t just let that happen.

“What?” She demanded him.

“Someone stole my gun.” It set them on alert immediately at his few words.

The four of them exited the med-bay to head for the crew’s quarters. While on their way Shun
suddenly stopped and spoke.

“You were there?” His words are directed at Lana. The said woman turned about abruptly. “What?”

“Let me see your gun.” Shun said coolly, but it wouldn’t take a fool to know that he was suspecting it
was her. Lana however scoffed, immediately getting his point. “Are you kidding. I didn’t steal your
fucking gun.”

“So, show me.” Shun insisted.

“Shun, what are you doing?” Elliot had to interrupt. Lana might be still a stranger, hell all of them but
she knew at least in her intuition Lana won’t do anything like it. “Don’t!” Shun shouted it at her,
immediately shutting her. Elliot took a little step back like a little girl scolded by her parent. Shun
followed more words, much calmer and gentler. “Not from you. Not now.” Yet still it didn’t ease her
at any slightest.

“Let me see the gun, Lana. Let me see it.” He continued at Lana stepping closer towards her, the
woman looking just as stubborn. She couldn’t blame all of this extremely cautious behavior they are
displaying, after what Henri had declared earlier. The alien could be in anyone. It could be in Lana,
Shun, Henri or even in her. The thought made her entire skin crawl. The last thing they wanted is the
alien to have a hold on a weapon such as the gun.

Shun and Lana stood in a stare down show down, no one seem to be planning on backing down just
yet but then another of them rounded a corner and called out to Lana. Interrupting the tension
brewing. “Lana.” It was Katie. Shun was forced to look away from Lana and to Katie.

“Everything okay?” Lana asked her. “It’s Logan. He’s panicking. I tried to calm him down, but he
wouldn’t listen to me.” The younger girl informed. “Where is he?” This time it was Shun who asked.”

Katie led them where Logan is, up at the navigation room and as they entered the room, they
immediately spotted Logan, Baum and Lee. Lee has her hands tied with rope and is crouching on the
floor scared, whereas Logan, he has mostly likely Shun’s gun and pointing at them. Lana rushes to
the front quickly with her gun pointed at Logan.

“Drop it. Drop the gun!” She ordered at Logan with a firm voice as she moved forward to him
causing the man to take backward steps. “Wait, wait.” He said nervously. “Hey.” Baum added who
was standing next to him. They were like children caught on the act of doing something really bad.

“She’s the one who’s infected.” Logan continued on, referring to Lee but Lana isn’t slowing down as
she neared them. “She’s the one who found Eric’s body. And there’s blood coming out of her nose.
Look.” They all looked down once more at Lee who was trembling on the floor. A streak of blood is
on her nose.
“That’s your evidence?” Henri said incredulously. “What did you do?” Katie added, her words
directed at Logan who looked just as affected by it.

“Katie, it’s not what it’s look like.” Logan dignified.

“Did you hit her?” Elliot spoke this time as she advances slowly towards Lee, seeing a seemingly
forming bruise on her forehead.

“We had good reasons.” Baum countered confidently. Confirming her suspicion.

“To start a fucking torture session?” Shun retorted with a loud voice, also noticing Lee’s state. He
stepped forward, standing on the right-front from Elliot.

“Just keep away from her, okay!?” Logan responded with a rather anxious voice, pointing his gun at
the man.

“Drop the fucking gun.” Lana once again ordered amidst his words. Her hands firmly holding her gun
at him. “You drop your fucking gun.” He countered childishly as he pointed the gun at her then at
Shun. They all stood in extremely tensed silence, anticipating on who would make the first stupid
move.

When all of the sudden, Baum lunges at the gun on Logan’s hand. The latter dropping the weapon,
the force caused it to pull its trigger by itself and it shot a bullet right at Elliot.

“Ahhh!!!” She yelped in shock and sudden pain, landing on the floor with her right hand on her left
arm. Shun and Henri was on her side in the next instant, the former’s eyes are blown wide in utter
worry but then he stood up, his face was full of rage as he turned his attention to Logan and Baum.
He curses something in Japanese, loud and angry stepping closer to the other two men but Lana
immediately stopped him and pushes him back away. “Don’t!” She yelled at the Japanese man and
then turned back towards the two offenders with her gun. Logan instinctively raises his hands in
surrender.

“Get out. And clear out of the crew.” She commanded at them. “It was a fucking accident.” Logan
tried to reason. “You thought Lee was inhuman? And Elliot? Take a look at yourselves!” She
chastised at them and the two are out of words. “Out!”

All the while Shun stepped back towards Elliot who was hissing in pain and putting pressure on the
wound to stop the bleeding. The bullet just grazed on her but damn if it didn’t burn like hell.

“You can’t do this.” Baum attempted but Lana is not having any of it anymore. “Out! You won’t have
access to these levels anymore.” At this the two men began to walk away towards the exit.

Henri helped Lee unbind the ropes off her whereas Shun helped Elliot up on her feet.

“I should have been faster to dodge the bullet.” Elliot tried to joke but Shun only stared at her. “Only
luck can dodge bullets.” He muttered to her blandly and Elliot chuckled only to stop when the
movement affected her wound. “Careful.” He said as he held her by her shoulders.

“I believe this is yours.” Lana then spoke, the two looked up at her and found her handing the gun.
Shun’s gun. The man accepted it, looking at Lana for a moment. Something like a wordless
conversation between them, understanding and trust. At least that solved one issue, particularly at
Shun’s end.
They all exited the navigation room but Shun had to stop by the door that leads to the crew deck
and let go of Elliot, not that she needed the assistance as her legs are still pretty much functional but
his concern is always appreciated.

“You all go on ahead. I’ll just need to settle something.” He spoke turning away from them and Elliot
couldn’t help but thought of what he meant by it. He’s going after the two men. His hand is gripping
his gun tightly and his shoulders are squared.

“You don’t have to go after them anymore.” Lana attempted to changed his mind, obviously getting
his intentions. He turned to her and then stared at Elliot who shook her head slightly on
disagreement to what he’s about to do.

She wanted to clock Logan and Baum on their heads for being complete fools but it wouldn’t solve
anything. They didn’t think through of their actions and now they are paying the price on Lana’s
conditions. That’s enough. But she knew well though, that it wasn’t to Shun. No convincing would
work on him now on how his eyes looked. Elliot would be a fool to go disrupting it so she just said.
“Come back to us soon.”

Shun bowed his head to her, a Japanese gesture known well and then they went to the hallway
leading to the crew deck leaving him there.
