HH Jayapataka Swami's major

milestones in the beginnings of ISKCON
in Chile.

HH Hridayananda Das Goswami Maharaja
had visited the country in 1979 but
developed some health problems in the
decade of the '80s. HH Jayapataka Swami
Srila Guru Maharaja supported him with
administrative responsibilities and initiated
several devotees who were previously
scheduled to become disciples of HH
Hridayananda Das Goswami Maharaja.

On September 22nd, 1980, HH Jayapataka Maharaja visited Chile for the first time.
In this visit he initiated and married several devotees.

called Éxito, hosted by a popular national singer “Pollo”
Alfredo Fuentes.
(this prog was aired between 1984 and 1992)

In the early days of Iskcon in
Chile, in the 1980s, Sankirtan,
Harinam…were performed
regularly.

Guru Maharaja's permanent concern for his disciples.

Between 1982 and 1983 the Puente Alto Temple closed its doors (relocating to another place in
Santiago) .
Guru Maharaja visited the country and gave a class in Parque O'Higgins (a large and well-known park in Santiago).
There he saw a devotee with saree offering him obeisance. He asked her whose disciple she is…she answered that He
is her spiritual master. He then asked her and her husband (also a disciple of Srila Guru Maharaja) to come and talk
with him later. Later he offered them a trip to the US since there were temples there that could welcome them.
Srila Guru Maharaja visits Valparaíso, which is situated in the
central zone of Chile
