A clan of mercenaries
Many orcs clans wandered throu-
gh the land in search of ways to
survive. As great warriors, the
Nightstalkers were nomadic mer-
cenaries who survived by fulfilling
quests for nobles. Most of the
time, the tasks were about inva-
ding and pillaging villages, a for-
tress, or even castles of a rival.
They could also be called to hunt a
dangerous beast or to fight along-
side an army. Their loyalty resided
with whoever could pay more.
Among the Nightstalkers, one’s
role in the clan is the most impor-
tant aspect of an orc. That’s why,
once an orc is considered of age,
they stop presenting themselves
with their child name, given by
their parents, and receive an adult
name, based on their feats. No
matter what they choose, every
orc will surely end up knowing how
to fight and protect themselves
and the clan.
The only one that might choo-
se to use any name is the leader,
which has been Ygash for years.
The Nightstalker leaders throu-
ghout the years tend to be bold
and take chances, getting con-
tracts that pay well but that end
up being very dangerous. Ygash
went beyond that and was known
for accepting quests that everyone
considered downright suicidal.
For attacking many villages du-
ring wars, plenty of nobles suffe-
red great losses because of the
Nightstalkers and wanted revenge.
One of these lords came up with

a trap: he offered so much money
for an impossible quest that Ygash
would surely accept, and ultima-
tely fail. The deal? Hunt down and
kill a giant.
The glorious days
Ygash fell right into the trap,
sure that she and her Nightstalke-
rs would come out victorious and
rich from this adventure. Many orcs
perished during the bloody battle,
giants aren’t creatures to be unde-
restimated. Soon, the Nightstalkers
realized it was a trap, but Ygash re-
fused to give up, she wasn’t about
to give the noble that pleasure.
After much effort and many lives
lost, Ygash slayed the giant and, for
that, received the title of Giantbu-
tcher. To celebrate her victory and
to become the strongest clan lea-
der that no other noble could take
advantage of, she ate the flesh of
the dead giant to absorb some of
its power. In a matter of days, Ygash
had become a full giant herself and
was ready to bring revenge upon
the lord who tried to destroy her
clan and any other who would dare
to cross the Nightstalker’s path.
The glorious days had arrived.
The clan never had so much money
and their enemies cowered whene-
ver they heard Ygash’s steps coming.
Such an improvement made everyo-
ne’s life in the clan much easier, com-
bats weren’t so dangerous and some
enemies simply fled the battlefield.
However, with power comes greed,
and Ygash hungered for more.
 Instead of only accepting new with her? Or will they be able to see

portant people and places as hos-
tages, demanding gold and treasu-
res from the ones in charge. If they
paid, the Nightstalkers left them
alone, otherwise, everything would
be crushed under Ygash’s and the
orc’s wrath.
Some of the Nightstalkers di-
sapproved of those methods, but
what could they do? Who would
dare to challenge Ygash, the Gian-
tbutcher?

How to defeat a giant?

Gorok was the only half-orc
among the Nightstalkers and, as
some others who dared not to spe-
ak of their disapproval out loud,
he detested Ygash’s leadership.
He was seen as a soft one by other
orcs in the Butcherhold, the clan’s
new lair. Gorok knew there must be
a better way for the Nightstalkers
to live and achieve everything they
desired.
Defying everything he knows, Go-
rok decided to flee from the But-
cherhold with only one goal in his
mind: defeating Ygash. He was far
from being strong enough to do it
on his own so wandering through
many villages, Gorok would sear-
ch for allies and ways to defeat the
Giantbutcher.
Ygash is a menace and she needs
to be defeated, but does the who-
