WELCOME
Whether you’re completely new to jazz music or an aficionado, there’s something
for everyone to experience and enjoy at the hottest May Bank Holiday weekend of
the season. Wander on over to Montpellier Gardens for a family day out or party late
into the night as the Festival bursts onto the streets, bars and clubs of Cheltenham.
Sample an electric mix of jazz legends and brand-new talent in our Jazz Arena,
expand your mind with Jerwood Jazz Encounters, enjoy an intimate encounter at
Parabola Arts Centre or complete your Festival experience with the Big Top buzz.
2023 also sees the return of our fantastic Free Stage, including the much-loved
Jazz It Up from local Gloucestershire schools.
Gregory Porter returns for his last year as Artistic Curator, along with some
special performances from Van Morrison, Laura Mvula and Tony Hadley with
Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.

with Roxy Music and Duran Duran, the English-born Cheltenham Town Hall

vocalists in the world. Sarah celebrates the life of gospel
blues legend Mahalia Jackson. Formed in 2012 through the Tomorrow’s Warriors
talent development programme, Ezra Collective
have become architects of a new phase in
London’s musical journey. Together they blend
Black genres including jazz, grime, afrobeat and
dovetail, and harmonise fluidly at new, forever
