War in Ukraine

Today war between Ukraine and a Russia is the most discussed topic. I have been living in
Ukraine my whole life, but recently I had to move abroad. This decision was maybe the hardest
in my life, but now it would be better for me. My family is still at home, and, frankly speaking, I
miss them and my city so much.
So, the war has started 8 years ago, but the peak of events is happening now, beginning from
the 24th of February. The Russian army was bombing the Ukrainian cities at 4 am and it was
worst morning ever for me. Then there was no electricity, water and gas for weeks. Then arose
delivery products problems and medicines. People lost their work, and prices kept rising. While
all that terrible mess was happening, world community couldn’t do anything about it. Finally,
Ukraine got first military aid from USA, countries such as Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Canada
etc. began to accept refugees, give them housing and benefits. Everyone knows that the
occupying country calls the war a special operation, and it is forbidden to call a spade a spade
on the territory of the Russian Federation. On territory of Ukraine every day going fights, from
day to day Ukrainian soldiers liberate more and more cities and districts.
As for my city, on the 3rd day of the war Russians took it without a fight, and the effects are
awful: Russian soldiers live in the apartments where the Ukrainians left, they kidnap people
who do not want to cooperate with them and beat them, it’s scary to let children walk further
than the yard, because there are a lot of accidents. They also open their stores, introduce their
own currency, issue passports and open their own schools. My university was also captured in
May, and I can no longer study there.
It’s being painful for me to see the photos and videos with destroyed buildings and dead people
every day. I hope that one day I will open my messages and see one “Ukraine won”. I think, it
might be the happiest day from my life. I sincerely believe that such a day will come very soon.
