Binary Numerical System Contemporary Mathematics has a wider usage and focused on application of Mathematic in todays society program.

It has 4 main strands that are Algebra and Functions, Geometry and Trigonometry, Statistics and Probability, and Discrete Mathematics. Number system is used to represent numeric values in our life including in Contemporary Mathematics. There are many number systems that exist and each of them has its own importance of usage. One of the most popular number system is base 2 also known Binary Numerical System. This system has different characters with decimal numeral system or base 10 that we usually used in our numerical system. Base 10 uses digit 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 but base 2 used only digit 0 and 1 to represent any numerical values. For example, base 10 represent numbers by 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 but in base 2, we represent the numbers by 0, 1, 10, 11, 100, and 110. Binary Numerical System had been used widely in our life especially in computers. It is because this system is easier to implement with current electronic technology and also cheap. Computer device uses 2 main button to operate that are button on and off. These 2 buttons actually applied the binary numerical system as 1 for on and 0 for off. These are easily represented by a low or high voltage in circuit. Furthermore, interpreting information in computer devices need to use Binary Numerical System to be converted as computer will only read this system for any information that being stored in them. Computer uses bit in their program which is bit is actually referred to Binary digIT. There are 8 bits in a byte and of course there will be lots of bits in kilobytes. These had made computer used this system to be as their RAM (Random Access

Memory) to manipulate and store all data including words, graphics, videos and so on that being stored in them. These factors also had made the hardware is easier to design with more spaces such as pen drives. This system also had made counting become easier with no carries such as in base 10 as it involved only 2 main digits. However, this system will be hard to read as the numbers will become longer when the values become bigger. Other usage of binary numerical system had been used is in digital devices. There are lots of digital devices nowadays such as digital camera, calculator and so on. In digital devices, the data will be digitized from the analogue signal to the voltages to be transferred into other form. For example, in determining code by using black and white colour a fine grid will be laid over the image that we had received. Amount of gray at each intersection that we called pixel will be looked to determine the code whether code 0 or 1. For example, if the picture is purely white, the code will be 11111111 in 8 bit-codes and if the picture is purely black, the code will be 00000000. This system also had been used to decoding images. The correct shade of gray need to be assigns using this system to each pixel before the picture appears. The resolutions will be expanded to larger sizes to avoid losing detail. As a conclusion, this binary numerical system or base 2 had widely application in our life.
