website that looks authentic. The victim is then prompted to enter personal

information, such as login credentials or credit card details, which the

cybercriminal can steal and use for fraudulent purposes.

2. Identity theft: In this scenario, a cybercriminal obtains personal

information about an individual, such as their name, address, Social

Security number, or financial details, through various means such as

hacking, data breaches, or social engineering. The cybercriminal then uses

this stolen information to impersonate the individual, opening bank

accounts, applying for credit cards, or making purchases in the victim's

name. This can result in financial losses, damage to the victim's credit

score, and other serious consequences.
